Strong for the design
There are only 2 screw holes holding this in place. They are attached at the lower windshield mounting bolts when the shield is in the top position. It is fairly sturdy. Once a GPS or Phone is mounted, bumps in the road can make it bump against the dash. Placing a small rubber bumper or felt button between it and the dash will stop this. The one thing I would change is to make the rotating bracket fit to the inside of the upright mounts to facilitate further rotation and that would also make the mounting point slightly thinner. Lots of options with the various mounting holes for different devices.
