beginners luck?
I just wanted some inexpensive green coffee beans to play with. I had never "roasted" coffee before and this was a grand experiment. I fried them in an old iron frying pan. Just enough to cover the bottom of the pan pre-heated to medium. 3 minutes covered and stir. 3 more covered and stir again... light brown by now. 3 more covered and stir. Then I stand there and watch because things start to happen quick. Stir, cover, and listen... they pop! Once it has popped for awhile and turned a nice dark brown cool them off and make coffee. Excellent results even with my caveman style of roasting. Better than any brand name "regular" coffee. Make sure you can have a couple windows open as there is some smoke... smells strongly of coffee. I poured the roasted beans from one container to another out on my back deck and let the chaff blow away in the wind. Worked well enough that I ordered a variety of green beans. Money well spent... fun roasting and good coffee to drink. Excellent product, well documented, excellent packaging, fresh smelling, and comes with basic instructions. If you are wondering and have an iron frying pan with cover give it a try... amaze your friends and spoil your family.

Excellent Coffee
Well packaged and by far the best Columbian Green Beans we have roasted. I roast a lot of Kona Coffee beans and I am being told these beans rival the Kona...WOW‼️HIGH PRAISE‼️

Very long shelf life before roasting .
I bought a 5 lb. bag of this over six years ago . I roasted it in very small batches using a hot air popcorn popper . This coffee was very robust ( roasted dark ) and delicious . About a pound never got roasted . I wrapped it tightly and put it in the back of a cupboard . I forgot about it until recently ( it's been over 6 years now ) . So I roasted it up using the same method . It tasted just as good as the day I bought it . Since it keeps so well , I'm going to buy more . I like this brand of coffee ./

Awesome quality green coffee beans for the home roaster.
We love coffee. We have been buying coffee from all over the world for several years. After watching several videos on roasting your own coffee we decided to take the plunge and purchase bulk green coffee beans. Although it takes a little practice to get the roasting part squared away the final product is some of the best, freshest coffee I have tasted. The green coffee beans store for a lifetime unlike already roasted coffee that begins to decline in quality almost before it makes to the store. After roasting and drinking several pounds of home roasted coffee the difference it very apparent. I have roasted these beans for friends, family and co workers and they all have enjoyed the flavor of fresh roasted coffee. If you love quality coffee and don't mind a little work to get it than you cannot go wrong with Expo Cafe green coffee beans. We have tried the Ethiopian, the Columbia and will be making another order for more soon. I shared some pictures of green coffee before and after roasting.

Not the greatest…
I was not able to pull a good shot. I changed the recipe and the grind, but always came out sour. I did notice that the darker I roasted, the better the taste.

Steal of a Bargain
I have yet to roast, but my goodness! It smells fantastic u roasted! Just like blackberries. The bean consistency is not really there. There are little sized beans and large beans in a given bag, but that is to be expected. Will do an update after roasting. They sent packaging along with the beans saying that you can save around 10% by purchasing them through Etsy or Village of Artisans. I will probably be doing that in the future. Also, you can get free samples from smokinbeans.com.Update- Roasted the beans and there seems to be a sour/acidic taste to the beans. There is definitely notes of blackberry as well some chocolatey hints as well. Definitely more of a light to medium roast sort of coffee. Overall, is a good deal and worth a shot at making more roasts with.
