Plastic Box Without Filter(Plastic Part), Empty Plastic Part Without Foam Filter, Plastic Box for First Generation

This was an exact replacement air chamber for my dreamstation 1 less the sound insulation. It was easy to install. Full disclosure I am an electrical engineer but I think most people will not have any problem following the great instructions on the video. Installing the display panel ribbon cable may be a little tricky for some, you need good eyesight and a steady hand; have someone young available for that if needed. I have good hearing and if you listen carefully you can hear a slight whistling sound of the air going through that you could not hear before; not noticeable if you were not listening for it. It took me about 25 minutes to take the toxic pan out and put this new one in, which has NO foam of any kind in it to allow toxic fumes or particulates. THE MACHINE IS NOT NOISIER. My wife could not hear it at all. I have hearing deficits, so it is a joke to consider it noisy for me. The instructions with it are excellent. Frankly, it was kind of fun putting it in. Detaching some of the electrical connections was a bit dodgy, but just take your time and gently pull at them. I used a pair of surgical tweezers to get them out. It worked perfectly on the first "test run." I could not smell anything from it. My AHI's are 22 now, which is NOT good. I am gradually getting used to it again and expect to accomplish a full night in a couple of days. This product is the answer to Foamgate. The machine does not need any foam, in my opinion.

Instructions were easy to follow. Also there is a great video on YouTube made by a sleep apnea influencer. Not sure if I needed to really replace the clear box since my foam was intact (I did not use ozone cleaner). All the tools come with the clear box which was great.

A really nice, high-quality replacement for the OEM part containing toxic foam. In addition, the T10 screwdriver and spudger that come with it are very good quality tools that are a pleasure to use. Although I didn't need them, the spare screws are a nice touch as well. If you (like me) are still waiting for Philips to replace/repair your DreamStation, this is a good way to eliminate your potential exposure to hazardous materials. With a little care, installation is well within the capabilities of a competent DIYer.

This had really nice instructions, came with the necessary tools and fit perfectly. Took maybe 15minutes to change out. Sounds exactly the same as well. Not any louder. I haven't used an ozone cleaner and my 2016 unit didn't look like the foam had started to break down, but I'm glad to get it out anyway and sleep easy. Wish Phillips would have just sent this to everyone!

the foam free housing was easy to install to my dreamstation CPAP, I cannot pick any difference in the noise level compared to the original silicon foam fitted housing - very happy with the conversion!

Works perfectly. Did notice that without the foam, the air pressure is slightly stronger. There are instructions on youtube on how to change the pressure.
