Expensive but definitely helps with vibrations and noise.
I just fully restored the interior of my foxbody Mustang. Between the supercharged motor, full exhaust, and very firm racing suspension, the car is LOUD inside and out. After stripping out the entire interior and trunk down to bare metal, I first applied a Foxbody coupe specific matched Dynamat kit from Late Model Restoration. But there were a lot of flat metal panels left untreated, and flat panels are what tend to vibrate the most. So I got a couple of these generic Dynamat kits to cover more area. Overkill? Maybe. But considering how loud the car is to begin with, I figured it couldn’t hurt anything but my wallet (this stuff isn’t cheap, haha) and maybe the penalty of added weight (so what, it’s a light car with over 670 HP and nearly the same in torque, so what’s an extra 75 or so lbs of sound dampening?). Note, I also used this material to repair and reinforce the plastic/carpeted trunk pieces which were cracked from years of abuse, and are almost impossible to find now. I can sat that even with half the interior still out of the car, the reduction in Noise and vibration is noticeable. The car is still loud as hell, but to a lesser degree and the exhaust drone isn’t as palpable. So while not cheap, this stuff works, and is very easy to apply. Just make sure the surfaces are cleaned and degreased, that you have a little roller tool to flatter out the surface, and be careful because the aluminum edges are sharp.

Sound Improvement / Reduction
I bought this to improve the cab sound in my Dakota Quad Cab when I was installing new speakers (my wife blew out the old ones!!). It was very easy to work with and install. All I needed was a utility knife to cut the mat to the sizes I needed for the install. It will stay on after it is in place but it is forgiving on install. This means you can make adjustments with the piece you are working with before you roller it down. Using the roller tool (sold separately)was worth the price of admission. It definitely made install easier and was able to clear any air pockets as well as give excellent adhesion.RESULTS: After the install there was a quick difference that could be heard. First thing you noticed is that when the doors are closed they sound more like a luxury car door closing. No more hollow sound, they sounded more solid. The sound in the cab is reduced and this is noticeable when no radio is on. Road noise has been reduced and it is a much nicer environment. As for the music...much nicer listening and clearer due to no competing noises from the road. Everyone who enters the vehicle likes it and knows there is a difference.NOTES: I installed this on the inner door and the outer door. Some sites and installers will tell you this is unnecessary but if you are in the door why not. The thin sheet metal is all that is between you and the road. This pack covered two doors in the front. I bought two boxes to cover all four doors. It took one afternoon to install and it was complete. This is not a hard project at all. If you can get the door panels on and off you can install this product.PRICE: I checked all over the internet and found that Amazon had the best price for this. From my experience this is likely to continue. Free shipping just solidified the deal. Check what you might need and compare the 4 sheet and 9 sheet boxes. Most of the time 2 4 sheet boxes will be cheaper per square inch and get the job done. Check prices and decide before you purchase.OVERALL: I am very pleased with this product and would recommend it to anyone. It does what it is advertised to and is very easy to install. It will not make much difference if your vehicle has a lot of soundproofing already but if your car does not then this will do wonders. My truck had some very small pieces of factory mat in the outer door metal already. They were just covered by the Dynamat. You may find the same thing during your install. They must think the truck needed some. I just took it up a notch.

Expensive, but worth it IF you install correctly
Packaging: Shipped in a Amazon brown box. The contents were in a branded DYNAMAT box very tightly folded.Product Impressions: The materials come pretty tightly packed. I recommend taking it out the night before a project to let it "straighten out" before install as that helped me install easier. The material was easy to install and cut up. I used literally every square inch of it on my 4 doors of my Camry Hybrid. It's weird to barely hear any road noise from the doors and just hear the wind going across the glass but hey, it means its doing its job! In my opinion, if you want a budget buy/build, look up the "bell" metaphor for this as you're going to pay a pretty penny to do all 4 doors of your car with this covering the whole door. I did patches and it appears to work the same. Watch YouTube videos and see what people say for your car! If you get any of the tar-like on any tools, I tested Goo-Gone on it and it removed it quite nicely.Usability: Works great on CLEANED metal frame of my Camry Hybrid. Use isopropyl alcohol to clean the surface first!Overall Thoughts: Great price, easy install, backing DID make a nice difference for my new speakers. Note your car doors will sound differently closing and will be heavier.

Worked perfectly in my 2017 Mazda 3!
I was a little hesitant and skeptical about how well this would work, so I did an experiment. I installed the front door speakers I bought elsewhere (Kicker 46CSC674's) before I installed the Dynamat. I took a quick drive after that and while they sounded better treble-wise compared to the factory speakers, there was not a lot of bass like I was expecting. At that point, I took the plunge and installed the Dynamat, put everything back together and took another drive. Wow! The bass was back and better than without this installed! A couple of weeks later, I did the rear door speakers (another set of Kicker 46CSC674's) and now I can actually hear the back speakers. The factory speakers were probably blown (at least one in the front and one or both in the back). Same results there! Fantastic bass response with this installed.I can't speak for other brands of sound deadening material, but after installing this kit in the front and back (required 2 kits of course!), I am sold. I did not buy the roller they advertise and instead used the back end of a screwdriver like several other reviewers mentioned. That worked out quite well and was able to smooth things out pretty easily. If you are replacing speakers, by all means pick this up, as it will help with your bass response.
