Nice thermometer but missing key feature
I just received this Nov 28, 2020 and immediately set it up and downloaded the app for my iPhone. I found the setup easy, the quality high, and the app simple to use with some nice features. That said, one key feature is the ability to set up an alarm based on when the meat hits a target temperature. Yes, you can do this but you must have the app active and iPhone screen lit up for the alarm to go off. This means it is worthless. Even if the app is open but the screen is dark, the alarm on the phone will not go off. Outside at the grill or smoker, the device does go off, but if you are behind doors and far enough away to want to use a wifi monitor, then you won't hear it. I have sent them an email asking for what I might be missing (doubt it) and will post an update based on what they tell me.

Does what it says it will do.UPDATE 02/03/21 Lasted 3 cooks
The specs state +- 12 degree accuracy. That is not good for cooking.UPDATE 02/03/21 It doesn't matter how accurate it is if it won't hold a charge for more time than it takes to cook. I put two Boston Butts on at 1:54am and woke up at 9:40 am and the app said shut down.I went to my kamado and the battery was dead. That is with a full charge, obviously cheap lithium cells running this thing. If I knew that I had to tether it to a power source for a cook longer than 7 hours I would have bought something else. Very bad deal. My return window closed 01/31/20.UPDATE on 02/12/21---After fully charging the unit and turning it off it sent a message to the app the next day that the battery was low. When I went to check it it would turn on but shut down within a few seconds from low battery. Waste of $100

It does what it is supposed to do; and customer service is top notch
I wanted an inexpensive, multiple probe Wi-Fi thermometer for my new smoker—after too much research, I ended up buying this one.As soon as it arrived, I checked the calibration using ice water—nothing needed changing.Used it for a few 6-14 hour cooks (ambient probes above and below the meat; and two inserted). Worked great, and now I know a little bit more about how my smoker works!Unfortunately, the battery died within a month. Any attempts to recharge it were met with minimal success (4% total over 2 days charging time!).Outside of the return window, I checked Ink-Bird’s website and found their customer support email. After emailing them a description of what was going on (to include my Amazon order # and date purchased), I received a response in <2 minutes!Their response included a warm reminder that they would replace the device since it was less than a year; but also some troubleshooting ideas.Although this thermometer has a USB-C charging port, it does NOT support fast charging of any sort. After following customer service’s recommendation to plug it into a 5V 1amp charger, I have been able to fully charge it.

Calibration, Downloaded the wrong app
I put on a pot of water to boil then tried to calibrate the probes. All probes was off by 2-3 degrees. I could only adjust by 1 degree then it would jump to 4 or 5 then when i tried to adjust it down it would jump to negative numbers. Just could not get it settled on 2-3 degree adjustment. I don't know if it is the app or probes, ran out of time. Will update this if I can get it working right..... Update...I had downloaded the ink bird pro app and could not calibrate my thermometer, tried to delete that app and downloaded the BBQ-4T app and had no problem calibrating all 4 probes. Changing to 4 star from 3. Works fine now

Had it 24 hours, don’t trust it any further than I could spit it.
Got this yesterday, and immediately calibrated all 4 probes in boiling water. Only minor adjustments were required, which was comforting. Started a smoke this morning and decided to use my old single probe thermometer along with this one to compare. There was a 20+ degree temperature difference! I went to check on my calibration settings, and they were all set to 20 degrees offset. The software won’t allow you to offset more than 12.2 degrees for calibration, but somehow the system decided 20 degrees was what it wanted to do. I recalibrated again and used not only my old digital unit, but also an analog candy thermometer in boiling water. Got all of them to agree that boiling water is 212 degrees, then put this thing back in the meat and in the smoker with the old digital unit for comparison. 30 minutes later, the 20 degree delta showed back up, and the calibration settings showed a 20 degree offset. If this happens again, the company is going to get a smoke flavored return, as 20 degrees is an unacceptable variance, especially when the app software apparently breaks its own settings to make it happen. Very unhappy right now.
