Great Lights. Easily Recommended.
These are great lights - very bright! I ran 6 of them in my 450 sq ft garage shop, and that was perfect. At 4800 lm each, these 6 lights give me a total of 28,800 lm in my garage shop. I wanted a foot candle brightness of 50 foot candle everywhere in the shop. To calculate the total lumens required to get the brightness you multiply your square footage by the number of foot candles of brightness desired. In my case, 450 x 50 gave me 22,500 lm which 5 of these lights would provide. Using all 6 lights probably gives me about 60 foot candles brightness, which is excellent for a shop like this. Each lamp comes with several mount accessories, including metal clips that direct mount to your ceiling. You’ll use 2 clips per lamp, and I placed my clips about 6” in from either end of 47” lamps. One screw holds the metal clips securely in place in a sheetrock ceiling using the supplied plastic anchors. Of course if you have exposed joists, just screw to those. The lamps probably weigh about 1-1/2 pounds each so they are very light! Once the ceiling clips are in place, the lamps snap in easily. One reason that I really like this set is that you are given all of the accessories, wires, clips, screws and anchors to do the job. These lamps are linkable, and the manufacturer tells me you can link up to 6 lamps together end to end. Each lamp uses the same triangular connector on either end of the housing, and it doesn’t matter which end is “in” or which is “out”. If you are going to link the lights together, you begin by connecting the first light to a 110 volt receptacle using the supplied 5 foot cable which has an on-off inline toggle switch. Then you continue linking lamps together end to end using the supplied 48” link cables. As mentioned, you can uses either end of the cable on either end of the lamp.Another option allows you to physically link a couple of these lamps end to end, giving you an 8 foot long lamp. The manufacturer provides a little 1” long transition, which allows two lamps to connect end to end. At the moment, I mounted two rows of 3 running lengthwise in my 24 ft x 19 ft garage. Each of the two rows of three lights is mounted about 5 feet in from the long walls. There is about 3 feet between each lamp in each of the two rows, and the first and third lamp in each row comes in about three feet from each of the shorter walls at opposite ends of the garage. The link cables, being 4 feet each, fit nicely.Oh and here’s another nice touch. Your last lamp will have an open, unneeded socket on the far side. The manufacturer has even considered this detail, and provides you with a plastic plug that easily snaps into the unused socket, making it almost invisible! Something I really like is the fact that the lamps are all white, as are all the cables. They blend pretty well with a finished sheetrock ceiling.I am actually planning to hard wire my lamps in the near future. Note that whichever way you plan to use these lamps, they are intended for direct mounting, rather than hanging from a chain like some other models. I specifically wanted this feature; make sure you do as well. Once again the manufacturer has provided accessories to make hard wiring simple. Rather than using the 48” link cables, you will use the provided 5” jumper wires. These jumpers have the standard triangular plug on one end which can plug into either end of the lamp (Just cap the unused socket). The other end of the jumper has 3 individual wires that have even been stripped for you. If you are good with electrical wiring, just attach each of these jumpers to standard 14/3 or 12/3 romex cable. Otherwise, use an electrician. In my case, I already have a light switch controlling the main light socket in center of my garage. All my lights will tie together in the attic space over the garage and then get wired to that socket. One thing to note is that, by using their jumpers, you don’t have to come through the bottom of their lamp with your romex. This makes installation much easier as you do not need to get into the lamp. The small downside is that the jumper cable will need to go through the ceiling (if you have a ceiling) through a small (probably ¾”diameter) that you’ll drill through the Sheetrock right next to the end of the lamp. It will barely show and after all, these are shop lights. All in all, these are terrific lamps and I am highly pleased. These 45 watt 4800 lumen LED lights are rated for 50,000 hrs usage (typical) and I really like the 5000K color temperature. For me, 5000K is the perfect color. If there is any negative, it would be the quality of the parts used, but at the price point, it’s about what I’d expect. The metal is thin, but the fit and finish are good. So unless you plan on banging these around every day, you should get years of good service out of these. Highly recommend!

Truly awesome lights for the garage or elsewehere!!
The media could not be loaded. This is a review of the Barrina 4FT LED Shop Light, 45W 4800lm Daylight White 5000K, Frosted Cover, Corded Electric LED lights.I am incredibly pleased with these.!! Also pleased with the manufacturer to answer messages on Amazon directly, if you have questions or need other advice. Usually within one-day turnaround.I purchased 2 packs of qty. 6 each, which for my setup, equals three 16 foot strings, providing approximately 57,600 LED Lumens. The 5000k color is quite nice, equal to daylight color. Install was a breeze.Previously, I purchased these Barrina lights. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RKZFD5Z?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_detailsThey were really great, in the 8' size. Very significant lighting. Easy to install as well. In my case I wanted a 16' row and two 8’ fixtures were a bit easier to install. However, I found the VERY visible individual LED's too much, too noticeable and tough on the eyes. Otherwise, the lighting output was remarkable! But the 4’ lights with frosted lenses make a world of difference. While I gave them 5 stars for longevity, I cannot really say this as I have only had them installed for one day. But I didn’t want to reduce the overall rating by leaving it empty. These should be rated 5 stars across the board. Especially since the warranty on this model is 3 years. The installation was quite quick and easy. Allowing the lights to connect together with a simple double-female fitting is genius! Two people working together makes it move along quickly. Barrina gives you just about everything you may need.In my case, I wanted a really neat install, so I had my local electrician install three “remodel” AC outlets in the ceiling which are wired in the attic and wall to the original "occupancy" on/off switch. Each of the three, 16’ string plugs into an outlet. This approach made in very neat and eliminated the need to run wires across the ceiling to connect them in series. But you can certainly daisy-chain these lights together with the supplied cables. Just be sure to read the manufacturer’s recommendations about how many lights can be connected in series. There is a limit. The only parts I supplied were a better drywall anchor, the plastic type which screws into drywall very nice and easy. They are just so much easier to install and very trouble-free versus the small plastic ones provided by Barrina. These 4’ fixtures maybe weigh 1-2 pounds each. One thing to keep in mind is the total amount of wattage the lights will consume. In my case, each 4’ fixture uses approximately 45 watts, so qty. 12 would equal around 540 watts of electricity being consumed, which is a lot on your electric bill! Also, these lights are all connected to one “occupancy” light switch (the type which turn on via motion.) Ohm’s Law is your friend! My 12 lights equaled about 4.5 amps draw. The switch is rated for a maximum of 5 amps.Determining how many light fixtures you may need is a bit of guess work. Barrina has several suggestions on their web site based upon the square feet of your room. Again, their custom support folks were very responsive (through messaging on Amazon). I asked many questions during my planning. Also, a 100 Stars to Amazon for allowing these 8’ lights to be returned.
