Magpul Industries iPhone 4 Field Case

I originally got this case in black shortly after Christmas 2013 to replace an Otter Box case that I originally got for my iPhone 4S. The Otter Box was fine, but added a ton of bulk and was made out of a two piece design that was frustrating to adjust properly. The Magpul case on the other hand is one piece, slimmer, significantly cheaper, and just as durable (if not more so). My dad, a tech savvy guy, was so impressed with the design that he went and bought one for his iPhone 5. Shortly afterwards I got two more for my mom and grandpa (they both have the 4S). Everyone has loved their cases.I minor downside was that after a few months the corners on my case loosened up, and now the phone doesn't fit quite as well as it used to. My parents, however, have not had this issue with theirs. All in all, I still think this a great buy. My family and I have dropped our phones many times, often on asphalt or concrete, and these cases don't even get a scratch. Even if for whatever reason yours ends up stretching out like mine at least it's cheap to replace and get a new one (I just ordered a new OD green case today for $6.38 to replace my black one). This is highly recommended

This case shows that a lot of thought went into it. It strikes a great balance between protection and sleekness. It's not big and bulky, and the polymer is a good balance of flexibility (impact protection) and rigidity (holds its shape). I was concerned that the ridges on the case might make getting the phone in/out of a pocket difficult, but the texture is great; it's non-slip but still goes in & out of your pocket easily (unlike sticky silicone "gel"-type covers). The front edge is higher than the face of the phone (unlike their "Exec" case) to protect the screen somewhat. All the buttons and cut-outs are in exactly the right spot for my Verizon iPhone4. The openings for the earphone and sync/charging jacks are sized for the original Apple plugs. My Panasonic earbuds with 90-degree bent jack fit fine, but the plug on a 3rd-party charger was too bulky to fit.As others suggested, I colored the camera-lens cutout with a black marker to eliminate flash glare--no problem. Time will tell if the yellow shows a lot of dirt. Unlike some cases, this case does not come with a screen protector included, so I had to buy that separately. Aside from that, this case seems like a very good value. I recommend it if you don't need a bulky, waterproof case.UPDATE: the yellow definitely does show dirt, and the polymer is porous enough that you can't get it off. I've tried various cleansers plus a "magic eraser" sponge, all to no avail. So you can get a hi-vis colored case and accept that it'll get dingy-looking, or you can get an earth-tone cover which will hide dirt, but if you drop your phone in the woods, you'll never find it.

I was looking for a durable case to provide basic protection to my iPhone without adding a lot of bulk. Cases like the Otterbox's are nice, but they add so much bulk to the phone that it makes it difficult to carry in a pocket (especially women's dress pant pockets). This Magpul case provided exactly what I was looking for. A reasonable level of bump & drop protection for the edges of the phone, without adding significant bulk. I've had silicone or TPU cases for other phones, but they always end up stretching and didn't fit tightly to begin with. This case has a nice tight fit, but can easily be removed if needed. Connector openings are appropriately sized and I haven't had problems with stock or aftermarket power connector interference. The "covers" over the power and volume buttons do their jobs without a problem.If I have another iPhone after this one, another Magpul case will be one of the first cases considered.

Fantastic case - my first Magpul case lasted five years! This case is constructed of a moderately flexible (semi-rigid) and impact/abrasion resistant material that retains its form long-term. It is well-finished with a nice texture that provides a good gripping surface, but not too tacky so that it easily slips in and out of a pocket without hesitation. Good phone fitment with a raised perimeter edge (at the phone's face) to protect its glass and corners. It has appropriately placed power and volume control buttons, recesses and punch outs (camera/light, jack, ringer, speakers, charge port). It's profile is slim, but highly protective in my experience. I've recommended it to family and friends who've had similar experience and satisfaction with this maker's cases.

I really like this case, which fits my iPhone 4S perfectly, very easy to slip the phone into, yet it holds it very securely. The places where it needs to be open, such as camera lens and recharger port, are located perfectly. It does cover the on/off and volume buttons, but not the speakers or mute switch, and does not impede using the buttons it does cover. The case that I bought is the clear case which shows the phone through it. I also like the fact it is not smooth enough to slip out of a pocket, yet it doesn't catch on fabric either, and it provides a good grip surface. I haven't dropped the phone and don't plan to, but it seems as though the drop protection would be as good as any other case. Size-wise, it doesn't add bulk to the phone. The price is much less than buying a case through one of the phone service providers.

I really like this case, but it has some drawbacks.1. It is impossible to plug anything I own into the headphone jack without removing the case. They should have designed that area better.2. The more you take it off, the looser it gets until it feels like it is going to fall off. Normally I would rarely remove it, but for the headphone jack issue.3. No screen protection, but I knew that before I bought it and I am not counting that against the product in my star rating.Good things about this case:1. Made in USA2. Simple, durable case3. Great colorSo-so things about this case:1. The grip. It's a good grip in the hand, but it will still slide around on surfaces.
