Odd
Strange little booklet, more like a magazine than a book. The illustrations are b & w and very low definition. Not many pages and no page numbers, which is pretty unique. Acceptable as far as the content is concerned, but be aware of what you are buying.

There are better books on the topic
Okay, so as one reviewer very politely said, this is a rather odd book.To be frank, it reads more like a badly written high school essay than a historical work. Not only are there no page numbers with the contents page coming after the book has started, but they even spell Ras Shamra incorrectly! All the way through the work there are continual generalisations with no empirical evidence. The writer just throws in references to works from other published works and seems to think this makes them a historian.Perhaps, however, the greatest and most worrying error with this book is the use of images. Not only are the photographs incredibly poor quality, but there are no citations as to who owns their copyright. One can only presume that they have been used without permission. If you want a coffee table book that is relatively easy to read, then this might suffice, but if you want accurate insights into the archaeology of Ugarit, then I suggest you look elsewhere.
