Much better than GE Z wave plugs
I have about 5 of the GE Z Wave plugs and they are big and bulky and seem to end up blocking the other outlet on the duplex. I needed two more Z Wave plugs and decided to try these DZPA1-2BW by Leviton. They do not have a pass through outlet like the GE's but this allows for them to be much smaller in size and they mount with the plug outlet facing downward which to me makes more sense and gives you more room overall especially if you want to use the upper outlet on your duplex socket. I also thinks these are much more intuitive to use. Flashing Amber then Green to go into programing mode is a better design than the GE's that you just push a button and wait to sync up. With the GE's I have had some issues pairing them up at times and without the lights like the Leviton's have, you really don't know what the problem is. These paired up within a few seconds and have great range given that they are the Z Wave Plus. First impression, these are great, better and cheaper than others. I will continue to try a few more of these as I outfit my entire home.

Dependable Z wave dimmer
Z wave dimmers are more expensive that WiFi remote switches. They also require a hub to work (I use a Raspberry Pi with usb plugin hub I got on Amazon). Advantage is the use of the Home Assistant software with lots of features and the port forwarding so I can control all devices from outside the house. I also have many devices (collected over the years) and they would increase WiFi traffic and limit the number of WiFi devices. If you want one or two remote switches then the WiFi ones will do the job, otherwise for a full house solution, the extra work (and study to figure it out) of a hub based system makes it worth it. I am able to use the Home Assistant to control the

Solid performance and real z-wave range extension capabilities
I bought this in part to control a lamp, but more so to extend the z-wave network in a house where our Wink Hub 2 has coverage problems. In this same house I have several Inovelli smart plug-in outlets that work reliably, but don't seem to extend the z-wave network. To illustrate, I have a Kwikset smart lock that is located within 12 feet of two different Inovelli smart plugs, but was not detectable by the Wink Hub 2. One of these Inovelli smart plugs is even further from the Wink Hub 2 than the Kwikset smart lock. By comparison, as soon as I provisioned and placed the Leviton smart plug a similar distance from the Kwikset smart lock it solved the coverage problem.I've also had the Leviton smart plug in another house. In that application, it is also used in conjunction with a Wink Hub 2 and is used to turn a laser printer on in the morning, and off at the end of the work day. The smart plug is buried deep inside a cabinet loaded with electrical and wireless networking equipment. Performance has been rock solid.

works with smartThing
no need to download the Lutron app. Just do a factory reset on it before pairing it with your smartthing. Put it in pairing mode and the smartthing app will see it when you add it. other than that, works perfectly fine turning on and off my lights as needed.

Good plug-in dimmer, works with home assistant/zwave2mqtt
I wanted to turn a lamp into a dimmer and be smart. This is one of the few products that's not just a switch it's also a dimmer and works with LED bulbs. It's supported by zwave2mqtt which is really nice, and paired instantly. You also have several configuration parameters supported:You have the option to control fade in/out times (separately). Min/max dimming levels (separately), disable the LED indicator (good if in a bedroom) and toggle between LED and CFL support.

I've been using Leviton Z Wave modules for many years
An excellent module. I have over 20 in use for over 12 years. Only had to replace 2 or 3 over the years. Easily connect to alarm system.

Not fully compatable with VRCPG
Unit is supposed to remember brightness when "off" is given. It does not. "on" turns on with zero brightness which can manually be brought up using "+" .Consequently your profiles and events do not turn on visible light. And so essentially useless for me.whois or other ways to get info from unit do not work.If anyone can give me guidance I would greatly appreciate it as I have several of these devices around the house and they are old. If this worked as documented I would be getting a few more for new application.
