Q: I'd like to try using this for cherry tomatoes. I'm not sure how big a pot they need. Can anyone recommend a size?

I used a 10 gal. pot for my cherry tomatoes and they are doing fine. However I only needed to fill the pot half way. 7 gal should be plenty.

Q: Can I use thes.e for hanging? I want to create a "living" wall

I wouldn't advise it. The handles work well for moving them around; but I wouldn't stress it by hanging.

Q: What fabric are these bags made from?

Smart Pots are made of non-woven polypropylene (#5 plastic) fabric.

Q: Has anyone found a good, deep tray to put these Smart Pots into? Also no elegant solution for indoor use?

I just use them flat on the patio and deck. But if you're looking for a solution to reduce the water leakage, I mixed my soil with some of those new water retaining crystals - they're great, they help reduce the need for watering, they absorb the water and keep the soil moist, and they dry up naturally. Only caveat I found is that while getting use the them you over water, those nasty little fungus knats are going to be all over the place. If I were to use them in a tray, it would probably be something like large plastic under the bed storage box...?
