The flourescent illumination featured in CFL Educational Microscopes offers longer bulb life and radiates little or no heat compared to lower-priced models with tungsten illumination - an advantage when viewing living microorganisms. The seperate coarse-and-fine focus featuresallow students to have more accurate control during high-magnification viewing. Core components include inclined, rotatable head; in-base illuminator; and disc diaphragm. Fluorescent illumination provides whiter light with longer bulb life and virtually no heat buildup. Quality DIN** optics include widefield 10x pointer eyepiece. 4x, and 10x, and 40x objective retracts to prevent possible slide damage.
