We ordered these for our large Berkey gravity watering filtering system. These filters fit the stainless steel dispenser tightly were easy to install and have had zero leaks. They filter faster than the original Berkey filters, but I didn't notice any problems with the taste of our water. It's fresh and clean tasting after filtering. We live in an area with water that is highly chlorinated and tastes nasty if unfiltered. These filters do a great job of getting rid of the chlorine taste. For the price, they are an excellent replacement for the originals!

Works just as x well as brand name

We love these filters as we get our water from a deep well (over 200 ft deep); our water has a lot of lime in it, and these filters are so good at removing the lime; thus it improves the quality and taste of our water.

So my original filters that i was replacing were the berkey brand black filters. The Berkey brand filters are really expensive now so I was willing to try alternatives. Before i disassembled my filter setup, I measured the tap water (388) and i measured the filtered water with original filters (288). I then disassembled my filter setup and replaced the old filters with the new ones that had been prepped as set forth in the directions. I then ran three gallons of water through the setup. Tossed that water and ran another three gallons through and then tested the water quality again. The test I ran three times with new water samples. The test came out with 575! This means that the filter not only does not filter anything but is adding contaminants to the water. I don’t know what is being added but i am quite sure I don’t want to ingest it. Naturally, i put the old filters back in service. These things are dangerous.

I purchased large amounts of these at a time throughout the year, I’ve noticed periodically we will get one or two in which the silicone does not in here properly to the plastic gasket creating a seal resulting in a link between where water is not being filtered

We can actually tell the difference between the old ones and the new ones, the water seems much softer / smoother.
