Bionaire Cool Mist Tower Humidifier, BCM646C-NUM

I had two Bionaire cool mist humidifier that I purchased back in 2002. It's not the tower ones, but it's the ones that could hold a 2 gallon tank of water. I use the humidifier every winter for the last nine years and it finally broke last year. I decided to purchase the same brand last year, because of how much use I got on my old ones. I don't have any issues with this particular humidifier and It works great for us. Keeps the room humidity at a certain level. I like that it does not take up a lot of space and is also pretty quiet. I would definitely purchase this same model again.

We had to pull it apart to oil the bushings on the fan because it making a lot of noise. Once we did that it's running really good.

Pure junk. This is the second one I have purchased. The first one lasted for several years and worked very well. I dropped the tank and cracked it so even though recent reviews said this product was terrible, I purchased another one based on the previous one I owned. The fan on the new one barely turned, and was far slower than the previous one I had. It sounded like the fan was hanging up with something, but visibly I could not see it make contact. It lasted maybe about 2 weeks and now the fan is completely seized. I went back to the original fan/tower and now that fan is making loud noises...so I will be throwing two of these out. I have just purchased a Honeywell full room one to replace it that appear to have good reviews. If you really do think of purchasing this humidifier, save yourself the time and just throw your $70 in the trash.

I was a bit disappointed with this product. I owned a Bionaire BCM 645 that I bought some years ago. It kept the room at a much better humidity level and had a more vigorous fan. Sadly, the tank cracked recently and I needed to replace it. The fan on this one doesn't seem as powerful and even after running for 24 hours, the humidity level is still at 25% or lower. (25% being its lowest level. I set it up last night and this morning it was out of water. My BCM 645 usually didn't need filling for 24 hours and kept the humidity up higher.

I end up buying a new one of these every year or two. At first, they put out a decent amount of moisture. Keep them clean and they work well. But the little fan motor doesn't last. They start making noise after just a few months and then start spinning slower and slower until the moisture output isn't enough. I wouldn't mind replacing the motor but it's not too easy in these. I've tried cleaning the coils and lubing the axles for the fan blades in the past but it never lasts. I prefer this tower design so will probably end up buying them as needed. Gotta have one in Colorado with the dry air.Also, as many others have noted, the tank is difficult to fill due it's shape/design. I have found a way to keep it propped in our kitchen sink but it's still precarious. Our last one just failed because the tank was dropped while trying to fill it with the hose end sprayer in the shower. Still a major design flaw.

Perfect if you need to bring up the humidity in a room. Love that you can easily see the percentage of humidity. I see that others reviewed it as noisy but it has a low hum which is not bothersome. The reason I purchased it is because I have another one that I purchased many years back that I use every winter and it works perfectly. I have been using this one for the top floor of my home and it's perfect. You won't be disappointed. You cannot see the mist going into the air like a cool mist humidifier so it does not wet your carpet or get things moldy around it. I would highly recommend this product!

Yes this one works very good. I bought the Cheeper model of this one in the very light color and it was awful. Fan wouldn't work only some times and made a lot of noise. Pay a little more and get the good one.

We bought one of these five years ago at BJ's for our bedroom and it has been a workhorse. I get sinus infections easily and we run this humidifier every night. Love the sensor, so it turns itself on and off as needed. We now use it in the baby's nursery and bought another one. The only trouble is that the filters need to be replaced often (probably because we run it so much) and it's a little bit of a hassle to take the whole thing apart and to clean it and replace the filters. Would buy it again and again.
