Power Passthrough meh
Says it will pass power through to laptop but does not really deliver on that promise. I wouldn't buy it again.

It Worked Like a Charm with my Chromebook, but Worth $136?
I have an Acer Chromebook that incorporates "DisplayPort over USB C." A couple of weeks ago, I spent a few bucks buying a short "USB C to DisplayPort" cable and a short "DisplayPort to HDMI" cable, then tried hooking them in series to connect my Chromebook's display to my HDMI monitor. For reasons mysterious to me, it didn't work. When I saw the Amazon details page for this VisionTek VT400 USB-C Docking Station, it sounded as though it could do the trick. So I ordered it, but I was leery based on my earlier experience with the cables.Well, I'm glad to report that the VisionTek VT400 worked like a charm! It allowed me to connect my Chromebook's display to my HDMI monitor, so I can't fault the functionality or performance of this product. You'll have to decide whether it's worth $136 to you—that seems awfully expensive—but based on performance alone, I'll give this product five stars.A nice touch this product incorporates is a slot along one edge in which the provided USB-C cable can be stored. Very slim, In built cable holder
I picked this up to use on trips where we plug a small PC into the Resort main TV to play videos and let my kids play games. Usually I plug in my Aya device and then drive it with a remote keyboard and plug in a portable HDD. For this I need a reliable dock with HDMI + multiple USB ports. I have also used LAN before in a Resort to avoid poor wifi speeds (although not with this dock).Overall this docking station does great as I am able to charge my portable PC while running everything I need to. The docking station itself barely gets warm under operation and using it for over 12 hours straight one day had 0 issues. The dock has a little cable that fits into the side of the docking station however the docking station itself doesn't have a fixed USB-C cable, which is quite nice because I was able to use longer cables that worked better in the resorts.Overall this is a great little docking station that is small and light enough to be brought wherever I am going.

Works for android to
I got this to hopefully get 4k 60hz out of my samsuntg tablet s7+. It can support it but looks to be software blocked on samsung side. The device I had some initial issues setting it up. I could not get display out on my lg 27gp950 monitor at all. But after unplugging and plugging in and switching between wires it decided to work and been working since. I believe one of the usb cables doesnt support usb c dp out. But once connected it ran good. Though I think there was tiny latency but for streaming I dont think it noticeable. This usb c hub that supports 2 monitors includes 2 usb 3.0 ports and usb c ports. They are labeled so as to not mix up the connections.I am confused on why my wire that works on my other 4k output adapter hub will not work for this one.Maybe I had it as power to charge the device and forgot as I only use this hub for when I want to stream my tablet to my monitor or laptop and need extra usb ports. If anything else comes up, I will update my review.

Power Passthrough Makes This Item Worth It!
This usb-c laptop accessory is perfect for adding a few USB A-type ports to your computer as well as a wired network and HDMI monitors. The shielding is perfect and no static from the HDMI out. The only issue was the fact it really didn't add many more ports to the laptop. Great for someone without many accessories, someone with a lot....maybe look else where. However, the passthrough power is a real lifesaver!
