Excellent tool to have
This adapter works on several different vehicles. It connects easily to your smart phone and works with various diagnostic apps that can be either purchased or free download from the app store on your phone. Enjoy.

Compatible with, and connected with iPhone (13-pro) iOS 16.1.2
Absolutely great little device. Connected through Dr. Prius app and sent all diagnostics on every cell of the hybrid battery in real-time. Lots of data streaming. Only wish is that the instructions came with what the device was called. Couldn't connect at first, but I think I just didn't see the name (mine was called iOS Vlink in the list of devices). I was in an RV park, and there were about a dozen devices listed, so maybe I was just not seeing it. I gave up and came back and tried again today, in an empty parking lot, and there it was and connected no problem. Worked with the app very well and ran diagnostic tests galore on the batteries while driving, parked and drawing amps, etc, etc. I would recommend this to anyone with an iPhone. I'm sure it works well with Android too, but those are much less finicky than iPhones. Anyone wanting to research this in depth: read OBD-II Clone Wars. This one is identical to one in that article...just has a different "TonWon" name...but it's the same unit.

a little work, but it does work
iOS review here, but still may somewhat apply to Android users. Here's the main annoying thing. It suggested an app called "accurate" with a logo of Vgate, which is free. I got it to connect once, then never again. You can't actually do any diagnostics with that app. It pretty much sucks. And there's no demo for OBD Fusion. You have to pay 10 bucks for it, then if you can't use it, attempt to return it.The trick, the default for OBD Fusion is to connect with WiFi. Open the app and change the settings to Bluetooth. That'll help get you connected.Connection still rather sucks. During diagnostics it tells you to turn your car off or risk damage. I've had OBDII testing done with a standalone device, and you have to turn your car on for it to work, so this seemed dumb, but I followed the instructions. Well a few seconds after turning the car off this thing still has power, but the bluetooth turns off.Anyway, it works if you keep it running. So it works, why 3 stars? The experience sucks, and it seems really inconsistent. It's really cheap, so I went with it, and it was listed on the app I hoped to use. But you'll have to fiddle lots with it. So be ready for that. Everything you want to do it tells you you're going to F up your car.Just know what you're getting into. It feels a lot like using a really cheap android device instead of an iPhone. They both work for their intended purpose, but one of them works a bit smoother for regular use. You can hack the android easier, if that's what you're into. But if you just want it to work easily out of the box, maybe this isn't the device for you.edit: I had this set to only 3 stars at first, but after comparing it to my friend's "Automatic," which I think is the pinnacle device similar to this one for iOS, he regretted getting that. The Automatic app is a bit prettier, but is still a bit of a pain. And at 120, fine, 110 since you have to buy this app for comparison purposes. 5 stars.

Works fine; subject to limitations on the APP
I used with OBD Fusion APP and it worked fine. Just be sure to follow the bluetooth instructions on the APP when using.1) Make sure Bluetooth is "ON" on your iPhone settings2) Go to OBD Fusion app, Click Settings, then "Connection" settings then change from Wi-Fi to Bluetooth3) Set ignition to "ON" mode then click "Connect" at the bottom of your OBD Fusion App.That's it!... You're good to go.Only gave this TONWON 4 stars because the app requires you to pay $9.99 to get, then additional payments to add more functionality like oxygen sensors, on-board monitoring (whatever that means), performance tracking monitors (I'm not going to drag race on the 1/4 mile anytime soon), etc.... However, unfair to blame the TONWON for those deficiencies as that is related to the software, not the TONWON.

Only gave instructions in Chinese.
Tried it one time and was disappointed. Put it back in the box and that’s where it stays to this day.

Good product for a good price
Works perfectly. I use obd auto doctor on my lap top. I bought the middle version of the software as I needed to be able to display PID info instead of just checking engine codes. This is a very inexpensive alternative to the more professional scanners and software. I’ve got my money back from these purchases in less than a month with my ability to do true diagnostics saving me the time and money from throwing parts at the problem and not getting it right the first time. If you are not educated on PID data and what it means get educated, otherwise buy this scanner and only use free apps to scan and erase power train codes.

diy guy/gals must have item, need to download separate app the compatible. i use 2 demo free apps.
still works and will switch from my car to another when needed to check the codes on othes I drive a hybrid and found this recommended app specially design for hybrids battery and other various systems settings. from app suggest specific type/brand but any type bluetooth obd II and connects properly should work. once connected to obd port. turn car to on/ open app search Bluetooth devices to select and connect. from apps and options, tools available. i use the free/demo to brief check status of Hybrid Battery. while searching app store. found a good app to use and obd II code reader and clears error. (must select correct vehicle info when starting app and then go read / search errors. i verified that works correctly to identify and clear codes. depending on the apps features. i was disable seat belt warning chime, and reverse chime. oem will turn off a constant chime. when turn off it only chimes once. hybrids/ ev cars has these annoy chimes as warning or safety feature but annoy. but its good invest cost was 49.99 i think/ selections of apps to connect.
