Principles of Two-Dimensional Design
D**.
Heart of the Matter
Wucuis Wong's Principle of Two-Dimensional Design goes straight to the matter of designing with basic elements (line, shape, direction, texture)and the various approaches an artist can take to develop meaningful and interesting designs. He does not rely constantly on associating design ideas with great works of art, as do most design books.

Great starter book for Graphic Designers
I had to get this book for a Graphic Design class. It explains the foundation of design very well. I really like it. It's straightforward and easy to understand! I highly recommend for anyone who is interested in art, design, web design, graphic design, etc.

No colour illustrations, pages look like a poor photocopy
While the content is interesting, I feel like this book is a half measure when it comes to quality. Besides the cover there are no colour illustrations, and the typography is terrible, it looks like it's be photocopied more than once.

Good not great
Pretty good, but author seems to to be focused on 'completeness' as opposed to really instilling any knowledge. That being said, the information covered is very complete.

Expected more
The book was probably good in 1972 but a little dated today. Simply expected more for preparing to teach a class in the spring.
