Good printer for 1980 hardware design!!
I’m pissed this thing comes without a WiFi adaptor. It’s 2019- who does that??? The printer is great but this add / listing needs to make it more clear that the hardware architecture is circ 1980.

Garbage, poorly made
I'll start with the likes.I like the screen and the sleek design. Seems about it from there. And the rest. The set up is terrible--could there be a less user friendly setup? Possibly. Now I have a background in assembling a ton of children's toys and Ikea furniture, so I know bad set ups, but this takes the cake. Sure pulling it out of the box is fine but hooking it up to a computer and getting it to function is a different story entirely. It is as if Xerox decided they wanted to make the least user friendly experience possible and see how many people they could drive away. Or it could be that they have the mindset of a 1988 tech configuration and want to recreate those specs on every workstation their machines touch. Either way it was difficult at best. The bypass tray is a challenge. This requires some gentle caressing and whispering of sweet nothings in order for it to work. I was hoping that merely putting something in the bypass tray would get it to work but here I had to bring chocolate and take it on a second date and it still wouldn't give up print goods. Couple of kisses on the cheek and I was in business.I've owned this printer for 1.5 years. The warranty is 1 year. Oh math.2 days ago I hearing a guttural gurgling noise and think this can't be good, it wasn't. I was using the bypass tray and the paper jammed up. Not too big of deal, did some unjamming. Same noise, same jamming sensation. Ok, problem is looking worse. I go to print, and the noise hits me again, was it me? are these words real? Yeah, and now only have the page is printed. What? Half the page? Is it at least the half I need? Oh, I need both halves, bummer. I tried to copy, let's go 2 sided. SBJ! The little roller to the output try is dangling. Broken output tray roller? How on Earth? IDK? Total opposite of a Sir Lochinvar moment at this point--check me out 11th grade English teacher. All right, things are looking bad here, broken roller, definitely a problem. I'll just chat with tech support, I'm sure they are helpful. 20 minutes later, ok, no warranty and call tech support, super helpful. Call to tech support. Ok, no warranty, yeah, I'm aware of that one. I can take to a repair place 1/2 an hour away. Oh, seems reasonable--I kid, not reasonable. We can send a technician, $299 for the first 1/2 hour $69 after that. SBJ!Xerox should be sending me a new machine for this total bs. But alas poor Yorick, I knew him Horatio--aka, they will not stand behind their products and I will not stand with them or their products.Xerox, there is no me and you, not no more.

Broke after 1 week
Purchased this copier here on Amazon , it is listed as new. The copier stopped working after 1 week . Error code was for toner cartridge. I did as the instructions said to fix it , but it did not fix. The toner cartridge felt light , like it was empty, even though it was only used to make a dozen copies at most. Called Xerox , they diagnosed it over the phone and over nighted a new cartridge and drum . Great job to Xerox, poor job from Amazon for selling a machine with an almost empty toner cartridge. Also when I gave the serial number to Xerox support they said this machine was listed as in use and registered 1 year ago. I had to fax them my invoice from Amazon showing the date of sale was just a week ago and that it was sold as a new machine. Other then all of that this machine works great and is fast.

Avoid Xerox VersaLink B405 - unsatisfactory and ineffective problem resolution
I'm writing about the situation where my Xerox VersaLink B405 Serial # 9HB925608 failed. I researched the various laser printers on the market for the printer capabilities within my price range. I chose what I believed to be the best choice, Xerox VersaLink B405.. Clearly I have made an expensive and troublesome mistake as failure occurred near the end of May and remains inoperative.I opened a service ticket #25717472 on June 4th.The Xerox representative on the phone assisted me in performing a variety of actions to verify the printer was indeed not working properly. Upon completion of these actions I was told a service technician would be dispatched. I offered to take the printer to a repair shop but was told it would be an on site service call. Very good. The service technician was very cordial, courteous and capable and I told him no big rush to return the printer to service however I never anticipated it would drag on this long. The technician has now visited 4 times over the past 76 days replacing various components in the printer. At the end of his last visit on August 11th the technician made contact with someone at Xerox and told me the printer was authorized to be replaced as it was no longer cost effective to attempt even more on site repairs.Xerox was contacted on August 17th in an unsuccessful attempt to learn when the printer replacement would be performed. I was informed by the Xerox representative that some additional information needed to be provided by the service technician so the resolution would be given a higher priority. Again Xerox did not contact me so on August 19th I called Xerox once more. Again I was told the same thing where there was some incomplete information on my service ticket that was required and the order for the replacement was not yet initiated pending some missing information. I asked why Xerox would not contact me and what I could do and was told to just keep calling until the problem is resolved. I also asked if Xerox treated all of their customers this way or was it just me and the reply was it should not happen like this. Of course I already knew that but again no resolution whatsoever except being told the service technician would be 'pinged' to contact me.So now it's about 3 months post failure and 76 days so far with the service and repair ticket in the hands of Xerox but I have absolutely zero information about when I can expect the replacement. Despite Xerox having my phone number, email address and physical mailing address I have had zero contact from Xerox this entire time, including the days since I was told the printer would be replaced.

Does print 1quickly - all other features are a nightmare
Setup/install is a nightmare. Features advertised, like google drive or onedrive all have monthly charges. Tech support is awful. Xerox itself is a mess, too many accounts passwords log ins. Forget using this printer if you use Mac/iOS
