The first unit contained a battery that would not charge. Amazon replaced itThe battery in the second unit charged…but gave off a burning smell in the charger. Poorly designed lithium ion batteries are known to burst into flames, ask Samsung.So yes, the router spins. But I won’t use this product.

This mini router is fine for most light weight applications. If has a nice fast motor but, and here is where the star disappears, the torque is very light meaning it bogs down relatively easy. I will use this for trim work and light material removal but when it comes to boring out large amounts of wood, I might need to look toward a more significant machine.
