Firefly 300 multicode 3089, 3060, 3070, Compatible Keychain Remote with Better Range & You Pay Less! (Gray)

We have had several of the Linear Multi Code openers die on us over the years, they seem to have a very finite life, even just sitting in a drawer. I was about to buy another when I saw these little keychain size openers for the same frequency for $10 less than Linear. These work great, have just as good range, and best of all, they're not a gigantic hideous box to clip to your visor. These are very small and discrete and can clip right to your keychain. We have bought 2 now and had no problems with programming or use. They are a 10 switch fixed code remote, so if you have that type of system for your garage/gate/etc, these are the way to go!

This small, light keychain remote works very well and at a good long distance, I've had one for five years, and is still working. The original battery lasted four years, with daily use!There are thoughtful design choices like a larger, (and I believe more common) A27 battery type, means it works at a long distance and for a long time. Also a slightly larger hole for the red LED indicator means you can see that the battery is working, even on a bright day. There's a small notch where you can put a coin to more easily open the unit, to set the code or change the battery. Finally, they included a small piece of paper in between the battery and contact means it's not draining while in a warehouse awaiting shipment, so you receive it with a pretty full battery charge.I recently purchased another similar-looking brand, with *none* of these advantages, and also quickly realized it just stopped working sometimes, even when the light was coming on! I bought this item for my condo garage gate, which is so fricking old. I think the gate is at least 25 years old! What mattered is that it had a 10-pin configuration.Pros: 1) Very small, handy, portable garage gate remote control. I like the fact that you can latch it on to any keychain, which means that there's one fewer trip to the car to go get it. 2) The simplicity of this item. I didn't really need to read the instructions past how to open it. However, you need to have either the 10-pin settings written down or another gate remote control to see how you need to set the 10 pins for your gate. 3) It came with a battery, which I am pleased about. The battery that it takes can easily be found at any of the big home improvement stores. 4) The price. You can't beat it!Cons: 1) The back cover was a beast to remove. I broke a few fingernails trying to remove it, but in the end relied on a thin paring knife to get the cover opened. It feels like you need to break the cover in order to fully remove it and access the pins.Summary: I bought this one for a family member who will be staying with me for a few months. I will purchase more when the time comes to replace the ones I have. Great product!

Works great

The remote was difficult to open. You had to have an extremely small screwdriver to get the screw open, and hints from other reviews helped me get the tab open.I was able to easily change the pins to set the number, and when I went to remove the protector that kept the battery from activating, the entire motherboard fell out of the remote. I'm not sure if that was supposed to happen or not. It was very difficult to get it back together again to even try the remote. I went down to the garage to try it, and even though the red light activated to say that there was power, it would not open the door from any angle. I don't know if I wasn't close enough to the receiver, but there's no way to get any closer if I had been in a car. I went to initiate a return and was shocked to discover that they would not accept returns! I went back and reread the listing, and there is nowhere in the listing that says that it's not refundable or returnable. I clicked on the store name since it was sold by someone else, and looked at their return policy (which, honestly, most people aren't going to do before buying) and it says to check Amazon's return policy. I emailed Amazon and was grateful that they were able to issue a refund on it, but I shouldn't have to go through all that hassle to return a non-working item. I would not recommend this item or seller.

This remote works fantastic. It is as small as any car remote. The only inconvenience is that you need one very small screwdriver to take out the screw. Then you can remove the battery protector and program it with the code. I had to wait like two weeks to find that small screwdriver. I couldn’t find one at Office Depot nor some other stores. It would be nice to make it easier to open it. Beside this, it is a fantastic buy. I am even considering getting two more for other family members.

UPDATE: My review for this unit was totally wrong. I used the code that was on my existing remote and for some reason, even the replacement unit provided by the landlords didn’t work. When I contacted them they advised me to try the code backwards, which I did and it worked. So I decided to try the backward code on this unit that I had laying in a drawer, thinking it wasn’t worth the effort to return, and guess what?!? It worked!! Totally weird situation so I gotta come back and update this review. The unit works just fine and works at a far greater distance than the huge Star Trek Phaser my landlords provide. :)Old Review: This garage door opener does NOT work with linear multi-code 308911 garage door openers. I put the code exactly as it is on my old remote and the new one refused to open the garage door.

Easy to program & you can carry in your pocket or bike bag …. Very reliable

Super bien, ya tenia uno de estos y después de dos años se me cayo al suelo y se me partió, por eso lo busque aquí en amazon y la verdad excelente! Lo programe y funciona perfecto a mas de 60 mts de distancia, el tamaño es super conveniente por eso me encanta. Viene con batería. Excelente.
