As a Phd dropout in political science and as a consummate political hack -- I've literally read thousands of books on politics over a 50 year period. And it wasn't until I read MILITARY STRATEGY: ... until I found a short book that tells you everything you need to know about operating in a purely political environment. War and politics both require campaigns, and the logistics of both are remarkably similar. I found that this book gives readers everything they need to know about being successful political actors.I can't recommend this book highly enough!

Do they discuss what they do to citizens in California in this book? The Military is completely out of control and knows nothing of citizen's rights. They do like to go to Home Depot parking lots and pay immigrants to harass people though.

A concise summary of military strategy's components and what should be considered when employing a particular approach and goal or objective. It's well organized, complete, with examples that provide some real world perspective. It's also written by a former military officer, based his real world experience and knowledge; in a concise and practical manner.

My most interesting College courses were taught by scholars like this author. Not only are the points this book makes superbly articulated, but the examples highlight the practical real-world implications that learning...Real Learning is supposed to accomplish. Lucky are the men and women who defend our Nation who have had, and continue to have, the opportunity to Really Learn from a gentleman of this stature.

I disliked nothing about this book frankly. It was incredibly informative and very well written. The author balances comprehensiveness with concision, and moves from abstract point to concrete historical/contemporary examples.

A very concise rendering of military strategy; th theme of the book is represented by the quote from Col Summer's book on his conversation with a VietNam counterpart: "We were never defeated in battle." The reply is a classic put down.

Good quick review of the basic military strategies, although the section on cyber was lacking, severely.

Great introduction to Military Strategy. I enjoyed the breadth the book’s content and real world examples of the frameworks and theoryI recommend for anyone wishing to learn the basic concepts of the subject and wanting a short read to get started.

Das Buch war ein Geschenk und ich habe vom Beschenkten das Feedback erhalten, dass das Thema recht oberflächlich behandelt wird, er kaum Neues erfahren hat (obwohl er sich bisher nicht ausdrücklich mit dem Thema Militärstrategie befasst hatte, aber gerne historische Dokus schaut) und sich einfach mehr Zusammenhänge, Beispiele und Details gewünscht hätte. Damit entspricht das Buch nicht dem Standard, den ich von der Very Short Introductions Reihe kenne.

Excelente, explica con estructura lo básico de estrategia militar, es un libro corto pero tiene ejemplos muy claros para entender cada principio.
