Exceeds my expectations - great fit and finish and terrific accessories
This little modular bench grinder system is far better than I'd imagined. The motor runs smoothly and has adequate power for my gemstone carving needs. I particularly wanted the included drill chuck attachment which can turn all the diamond grinding burrs I usually use with my Dremel and Foredom systems into a stationary grinding and sanding arbor. The quality of the main unit and the generous array of supplied attachments is surprisingly good and the fit and finish are excellent. My one small gripe, which other reviewers have noted, is that the instructions tell you to securely mount the base with screws driven through the two holes provided along the front edge. However, while those holes go through the metal they don't go through the bottom plastic cover. I took the cover off, made sure that there were no wires in the way (but they were close...glad I checked!), and then drilled through the plastic so I could attach the base to a piece of shelving that I can clamp to my workbench. Actually, for most operations that don't put a lot of pressure on the polishing buffs, grinding wheels, or other accessories, the little rubbery feet on the base will probably be stable enough to keep the base from skidding. This unit won't replace a big, professional polishing arbor or grinder, but for the kind of small-scale work I usually do it's a real winner. I got it on a Black Friday deal for $87, but even at a somewhat higher price it's still a really good deal.

Versatile But With a Few Rough Edges, Buy Polishing Compound You'll Need It
This unit comes with everything you see in the picture so it's a home run on versatility. I used it to easily buff some scratches out a piece of metal trim without any major issues. You may notice there are 2 tapered spindles on which to mount cloth polishing wheels. These are direction dependent. You'll know if you have them on the wrong side when you run up the unit and they take off. It's nice to have the ability to mount 2 so you're not constantly having to clean between grit changes.Note: This unit handles a max of a 2" grinding stone or 4" polishing wheel. Also you will need a solid work surface to mount this to (screws are included for this purpose).Pros: 1) Provides the ability to grind, polish and use Dremel type accessories (not included) in 1 compact unit. 2) On/off with variable speed control 3) Plenty of power at higher speed settings. 4) Assembly takes all of 15-20 minutes. 5) Comes with everything you need to assemble/mount it.Cons: 1) When set at the lowest 30% of speed range unit does not run smoothly (without load) or at all. 2) Unit would not start one time until I rotated the shaft by hand (even when set to high speed). 3) Does not come with polishing compound. If it wasn't for the variable speed issues I'd give this a 5 star rating. In all likely hood it could have been an issue with my unit but since I operate at the upper half of the speed range it isn't worth dealing with. Regardless it got my job done and comes with just about everything you would ever want accessory wise.

PERFECT TOOL
Very compact. Don't let it fool you. It may be small but it is solid, quiet and has more power than you my think. The attachments alone make it worth the money.

High speed polisher
Worked great - when it was working.. quit on me after a month and a half of normal use. The problem is in the circuit board,
