Works. Peace of mind. Displays trends over time.
My home was built in a new development in 2017 with a passive radon mitigation system in place (passive is useless at reducing radon, but at least much of the infrastructure is in place to facilitate activating later). Some in the neighborhood claimed to have high radon levels, while others claimed they're low. Since I planned to finish my basement, make it liveable, and have one of my kids' bedrooms down there, I wanted to know for sure, wanted to monitor over time, and didn't want to pay for testing, wait for results, pay again, wait again, and pay for someone to activate my mitigation system, so I bought this device.I quickly learned that I have high radon levels that fluctuate based on a variety of conditions throughout the year (e.g., snow melt and rainfall saturate the earth and put pressure on radon gases to find an escape...into my home). I kept monitoring the levels while making plans to install a radon exhaust fan in my attic on the passive mitigation system (fan creates a vacuum, pulling radon up and out of the roof). The device connects to your phone via Bluetooth and there's a simple user-friendly app where radon levels, humidity, and temperature are all tracked over time. If you fail to connect for days or months, the device stores the measurements and you still get them the next time you connect. After installing the fan, I could see in the app the immediate and sustained drop in the radon levels, dropping from red (dangerous levels) down to green (safe levels). Now that the fan is installed, I can still track levels and fluctuations and will know when the fan requires swapping out when levels increase.Beyond this, I've shared the device with a few neighbors, finding out houses right next door have low levels without a fan, while others throughout the neighborhood have high levels. I shared with my parents in one of their homes, then another when they moved.Admittedly, the device is a lot more expensive than a one-time test, but it provides peace of mind and an understanding that a single test will never legitimately provide. Plus, you can share with neighbors and family members to keep them safe as well. I keep the device on my son's dresser, so he can wave his hand over it to see the levels illustrated in colored led lights. That's right, I failed to mention that you can merely wave your hand over the device to get red, yellow/orange, or green lighting responses based on radon levels. The blue indicates it's processing or lost connection to your phone.I've been using the device for around six years and it still works great! Highly recommend!

This detector SUCKS!!!!
This thing SUCKS. First, I couldn't sync it. I followed all steps. FINALLY had to turn off the phone and on again...and then was able to sync it.But the problems only continued. It said I needed to Update and that it would take 2-4 minutes. Really??? It took FOREVER to get to 40%, then didn't budge for an hour, still at 40%. I had to use my phone!! But alas, if you leave the update page after it's been stuck on 40% for an hour, the update stops.I then tried the update 1 1/2 days later. First, it goes stuck at 4%. I did a Force stop, and started it again. It went to 13% and stayed there 45 minutes!! Again, I had to use my phone, so the update stops once again. This is ridiculous.Sure, it measured the Radon levels. But how can I trust this crap device when i can't even update.UPDATE to further underscore how lousy this has been: I tried a 4th time to update: It got to 20% and went no farther after 1 1 /2 hours. Light stays blue along with being stuck at 20%. Doesn't work to detect radon unless I remove the batteries or stop the app. Oh and by the way, the batteries in it are BRAND NEW by me. The ones that came with this did NOT work. So now, because I had to take out the batteries since it stays stuck on a very partial update (i.e. NOT updating), I'm starting fresh all over again. I have to wait 57 minutes AGAIN to retest the radon. Also, I called the guy who mitigated our basement a 2 1/2 years ago where this was supposed to sit. I bought it to make sure all still is well. He says something doesn't sound right for this Wave to go from around 35ish one full day to 235ish 1 1/2 days later. He said it sounds funky. Whether he's right or wrong, just having FOUR tries to update that failed is enough to feel like I got junk. It has now gone back to get my money back...and I will NEVER get another Wave again. Look at the amount of one stars for a clue....

Great product
Setup with the Apple app with Bluetooth was not too bad. Had to setup a few times to get the connection. Once the detector was connected, the product works well.
