is this jacket good for single digit temperatures?

I wore mine last week when it was 9 degrees Fahrenheit with a heavy sweater underneath and I was warm enough. I'm surprise by how warm this coat is given how light it feels.

Is this a more shapely, fitted coat, along the waist? i don't want to look like a blob. also, is the size 12 equivalent to a u.s. 12?

Yes, it is more shapely and fitted along the waist. You def will not look like a blob. The medium I purchased is equivalent to medium in u.s. size.

I have long arms. What length are the sleeves on a size 12? Some jackets I've seen have shorter sleeves.

the sleeves are just correct for whatever size you fit into

Can it sustain in cold winters in michigan?

Hi, sorry, I can't say. I haven't even worn it yet as I've been in Ca most of the time.
