Great Planes All Thread Rod (Set of 12), 4-40x12

I use a lot of 4-40 threaded parts. I generally make my own, but decided to give these a try in order to save time/effort. While these items function, there are several things I dislike about them. First is how soft they are....I suspect they are "dead soft", which is ok in some situations, but not for me. Another point is the thread depth. General industry standard for thread depth is 70%, after noticing that these items seemed to thread "loosely" into parts with 4-40 female threads, I measured the thread depth and found that it varied from as little as 25% to 55%..... not even close to industry standards. Between the shallow thread depth, and "dead soft" nature of the material, care must be taken when tightening....in some case anything beyond "hand tight" will strip the threads. I would have rated the item lower, but since it's about "the only game in town" when it comes to 4-40 threaded rod, the only comparison I could make was to parts I've built/threaded myself, and its far inferior to the parts I make.

Exactly what I needed . Clean threads, no rust or oxidation, heavy duty. Its all I use on my Giant scale planes.

4-40 threaded rod is hard to find. Local stores might have short lengths like 3", but nothing like these 12" fully threaded rods! A dozen, foot-long 4-40 threaded rods for under $20....you cannot find a better or more convenient deal!

Exactly what the description says. Packaging was excellent, no bent rods.

These were easy to dremel cut to size -- cleaned up easily and have been flawless ever since.
