Michael Allen's Guide to e-Learning: Building Interactive, Fun, and Effective Learning Programs for Any Company

This book makes every list of "Top eLearning Books" I've seen. A lot has changed in the eLearning industry since the 1st edition came out 13 years ago and the new edition contains some great updates.Most importantly, Allen does a great job of "plain talk" in explaining practical ways to build better eLearning.I recommend it for both eLearning developers (who are actually designing and building courses) and business managers (who are making business decisions to improve performance of employees).

Some great insights! However there is an inordinate focus on software design for eLearning that may be cumbersome for those not interested in designing software applications. So you have to read through that to get the subtleties of good design if you are using an already developed authoring system. That was a bit tedious at times but still very much worth the read!

As a teacher of many years, Head Teacher of a faculty and a self taught elearning developer, I realised that much of what I learned through software and websites achieved the very results described in this book. Some progress, some attention, eventual boredom and not as much retention as I would have liked to have seen.Not only will I be se the principles described in this book but I will teach the teachers under my direction these skills, techniques and methods.

Excellent resource! The wisdom and wit of the author is refreshingly present throughout this book. I have learned so much and my approach to e-learning design and development have been positively impacted. I found myself reflecting on work I've already done and what I could have done to improve. I will be keeping this book close by when I do future work.

This book was advertised as "Very Good" condition, and It is indeed in excellent condition. It looks practically brand new. I'm very happy with the product.

I loved it! Everyone should read it who is going to develop e-learning content. It's a must!

Less specific information than I was hoping for

good and useful guide

Absolutely must read if some one is planning or already in the Elearning industry. Very insightful and straight forward. Allen's multi decade experience in the industry is evident on every page. Even experienced professionals in the field can benefit by this resource. Highly recommended.
