Pimsleur Danish Conversational Course - Level 1 Lessons 1-16: Learn to Speak and Understand Danish with Pimsleur Language Programs

I have used a number of other language programs with little to no success. This program is very well designed to get you speaking and understanding very early. The lessons are not boring in the least and with the built in repetition and pronunciation exercises you will certainly develop a decent accent. My only concern is the complete lack of writing and reading help. This is conversation only. Danish is a particularly difficult language to learn because the spoken word is very different from the written (for English speakers), so this program will do nothing to help you with read or writing the language. I am hoping that I will be able to find another program to cover those aspects and that understanding the spoken word and accent, will make it easier to tackle the written. For the money and the ease of learning I definitely recommend this program.

I'm in unit 6 so far so I'm getting hang on the Danish, trying to see how far I'll be able to understand little conversation in Danish. So far it's going on well. Will write another review once I'm done with the entire course!

Very effective for learning to speak Danish.

expected more, but that's my problem

Great program. I am Danish myself, but wanted something to help my son learn Danish. I love that they don't focus on spelling and grammatical rules, but gets right into teaching you everyday conversation. The only thing I feel is missing, is something visual along the way. They give you these really long sentences to say in Danish (they tell you in English what to say in Danish). Problem is sometimes the sentences are SO long in English, that by the time you are halfway through the sentence, you have forgotten what you were supposed to say. If they showed visually on the screen what to say, it would solve a huge problem.
