NO SERVICE WARRANTY/PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE REVIEW
Most recent update: The replacement the company sent either was not new or a different one someone else had used, for after about six months, this one still is making good ice but it has some sort of black pieces(which i suspect is a piece of tubing, as it is now leaking)and it's not the plug. As I've said all along, when working, it makes great ice, but be prepared, as it very well may not last more than 6-12 months and then you have the nightmare of dealing with the company, Curtis Intl. not Frigidaire! They have beaten me.I'm going to try another brand, but if it arrives and has Curtis Intl. anywhere on it I'll send it back before my 30 days are up.This item is great when working. I bought this after seeing one like it a relative has. I loved it for seven months. Then it stopped. I went through all the trouble shooting steps, without success. I had always used distilled water in it, as the manufacture suggested. I thought, " except for the hassle of shipping it back, no problem. I'll send it back, it's still under warranty". What a joke! I contacted the number on the back of the of the instruction booklet and I was given a claim and to follow the instructions. I followed the instructions, which including sending pictures. After which, I received the same message several times asking for the same information, name, address, model number, etc. Again, I complied. After couple of weeks, with no word, I called and was told the photos were being reviewed. The day after Christmas, I received an email including a picture of the back of the machine with a yellow circle drawing around the vent . The email went on to say because that part was damaged, the machine's warranty was voided and the matter was closed. I immediately responded to the email, stating that the machine was not damaged but it was perhaps the reflection or shadows from the photo making it appear that way. I went on to state that I was, at the time, traveling and would not return until the middle of the month, at which time I would forward several photos to show, there was no damage. I have never received a response to that email. Upon my return I attempted to contact CURTIS INTERNATIONAL, LTD. When I called I have always been courteous and not angry. I've never yelled or anything. The last two times I finally reached a human after being on hold for more than six minutes both times, I asked to speak to MARK YOUNG (the signer of the email, denying my claim}, in CUSTOMER SUPPORT. I have no idea if that is a real person or a fictional person for such matters that is sent with those type denials. Both times I was asked to hold, the last time by a female identifying herself as Julia, and both times I was placed on hold and after about 20 seconds the line disconnected.I realize this is a long review, but it demonstrates my frustration. To summarize, the machine, WHEN WORKING, is great, it's fast, nice nugget ice. My relative's machine, which is 19 months old and filled only with tap, city water, works flawlessly. If it goes bad, do not expect any help from the warranty from this Canadian Company. AMAZON is also no assistance once their return window is closed. They simply refer you to CURTIS. UPDATE: The second week of Jan. I received another email from Mark Young, stating that if I would send additional photos, my claim would be reevaluated. i sent them in the next day. As of nearly week later, still no response. FINGERS CROSSED.Update: As of the week of March 4th, I received an email stating the upon further review, the company has agreed to either refund the cost of the machine or replace it with another. The email went on to state they would decide which and I would receive on or the other in the next four to six weeks. At least they have acknowledged the problem. Again, FINGERS CROSSED.Another update: After only nearly six months and $73 out of pocket, I received on my front porch, without any notice an apparently new machine. It is working perfectly, at present. As I've mentioned before, when it's working it is great. I hope the first I bought was merely a fluke and not the usual.I realize while doing this addition to the review that I have never mentioned the name the machine is sold under...it's FRIGIDAIRE. This is important as when I purchased the machine, I knew, or thought I knew, they were a good company. The machine is made by a company called Curtis Internationa in Canda. That is fine, but FRIGIDAIRE will offer absolutely NO support for the product, they merely refer you to Curtis. What if you bought an Honda lawnmower and discovered the engine was made by Briggs. If Honda stood behind it, no problemIn this case, the named company DID NOT.When this is working, it is great and I'm totally happy. I have relatives that have the same one that has been working flawlessly for over a year. So BUYER BEWARE, if there's a problem, be prepared for a hassle.

Frigidaire Icemaker
We've had various icemakers that last a few months and die. We bought an extended warranty on this Frigidaire but hoping we don't need it. It's simple design is far different from the previous model we chose. It's easier to clean weekly and monthly and it's affordable. The only drawback I can see at this early point in time is that it tends to build up ice at the spout which slows production. I'll send an update in a few months if needed.

Love this!
I definitely recommend this ice maker! It does make that perfect nugget shaped, chewy crunchy ice we all love. It's easy to setup & use, easy to clean. The noise others have complained about... well, I don't have that complaint. It's not silent & you can't really expect it to be, but it's not obnoxiously loud either. No louder than the fan on your pc or fridge/mini-fridge, definitely nowhere near as loud as a dishwasher or washer/dryer. Again, I highly recommend!

Paperweight
Works great 2 months then paperweight. I turn it on in a nice ventiliated area and it produces about 1/2 cup nugget ice then the auger just freezes and it makes a horrible knocking noise. I've continually de-iced it and even ran a cycle of hot water to loosen it up. Still nothing produces. Wish I could give this to a homeless shelter but I'd feel guilty afterwords.

Received Item Quickly. Low Noise!
Received item quickly. Low noise!! Produces very nice nuggets. However, when following the instructions to put the plug in place on the bottom, it was already plugged in by someone prior to me receiving it. There was also water that came out of the plug ports and what appears to be mineral deposits around the fitting near the plug ports and debris on the bottom ...... as if this product was previously purchased by another person and returned. Picture attached... lol, please ignore I need a manicure. As for it producing ice in 15 minutes. It began producing ice in 5 minutes, but took 3 hours to fill up with ice. When following the instructions to clean, I used only filtered water and same for ice production. BTW, my house temperature is monitored just above the location of the ice machine and indicated the inside temperature as 72 degrees while outside temperature was indicating 44 degrees. Considering this item appears to have been previously sold to another person and then sold to me, saved the box just in case it has to be returned. Also, in case I have to return it and they resale it again, the S/N:A24085820001300

Would buy again!
I love my ice maker!! I use it in my office and it gets used throughout the day. Yes, you can hear it making ice but it’s not loud or disruptive. Very pleased.

Almost made it a year
Worked well for 350 days. The ice spinner piece broke a few weeks ago leaving plastic bits in the remaining ice we had. Came on here to see when we purchased it and it's been 1 year since we ordered it. Def not purchasing third party any more.
