- EcoMeter S is a Non-contact ultrasonic level measurement with separate, digital display. - This level indicator for cistern and rain water storage can be installed in just a few minutes, without the need for wiring (the ultrasound sensor is battery operated and connected via a radio transmitter to the monitor)! - Proteus EcoMeter S is an ultrasonic liquid level sensor, battery powered and equipped with a digital radio transmitter. - This device has been developed especially for water tanks, rainwater and cisterns - but it can also be used for continuous measurement of the fuel tanks content (eg. diesel). - The intelligent algorithm responds quickly to level changes in the tank (e.g. during refilling of water or fuel several times per day, or pumping the tank content out). - To ensure maximum battery life, the sensor sends measurement data to the receiving station every 30 minutes. - Measurements are also provided in real time, but as soon as the detected change in the level of a tank is ≥ 1.5" / min. - EcoMeter S is a modern and precise alternative to mechanical dipsticks and content meters of water tanks, barrels and cisterns with a maximum capacity of 5300 gallons, offering a measurement range of up to 10ft. - The sensor communicates wirelessly with digital radio station within range up to 500 ft.

Great sensor. Improvements needed.
This is a very good sensor. When it works, it works quite well. Great features. Very accurate. Gave it 3 stars cuz it came without an important update to the instructions which left me guessing. The company though was quite helpful in sending the missing info. Tried changing the sensor battery and the terminal broke. Quite frustrating as I've had to improvise my own solution. The range is nowhere near as advertised. I've had to connect my own antennae to the receiver to improve the range. All in all a great product but requires some improvement.

Important to Understand this BEFORE you buy
This is an updated review. Well, I’ve pulled the plug and tossed this thing into a drawer somewhere. No longer using it. Having to go through the entire complicated and annoying setup process every time there was a loss of power proved unworkable. If they ever came out with a battery-powered version — or even one with battery backup — I might be able to recommend this. As currently configured, I suggest you look for another solution.1. The monitor must be plugged into an electrical outlet, so your ability to locate it will be restricted. (My other cistern monitors run on batteries.) Moreover, nowhere is this indicated in the product description. There is a picture of the monitor with a USB cable, which might suggest that it can be connected to a computer for programming. (That’s what I thought). No, this USB cable is connected to an electric plug. It would be useful for the photos to actually show the plug.2. The instructions in English are incomplete. There are items contained in the German version of the instructions that one can find with difficulty online that are missing in the English version. Specifically, these involve steps 7 and 8 of the setup process, which are completely undescribed in the English version.3. There is an inconsistency between the instructions and the actual device. The instructions say to enter information in cm and liters but the device wants that information in gallons and inches. Now that I have had some run time with this device, I can now add a fourth limitation, which in my case makes me regret the purchase.4. If you unplug the monitor, or if the power fails, you have to repeat the learning process. This means (for me) going into the basement, getting a ladder, and crawling on top of the cistern to retrieve sensor, bringing it upstairs to where the monitor is, going through the learning process, and then reinstalling the sensor. VERY inconvenient. There are better water tank ultrasonic sensors out there.

Worked great until my cistern was covered in snow
I bought this sensor last summer to monitor a 1700 gallon water cistern that is buried about 120 ft from the building where I plugged in the monitor. The sending unit was mounted in the center of the riser, only about 6 inches below ground. The setup process was fine and the unit functioned well, except it often lost the connection to the sending unit after power interruptions, which happen from time to time in my off-grid system. This would necessitate a trip out to the cistern to take out the sending unit, bring it inside to perform the pairing process and then reinstall it in the cistern. The unit stopped functioning completely when we got 8 inches of snow on top of the cistern which I believe reduced the range to less than the 120 feet I have. I then returned it and was given a refund. The manufacturer has a version on their European website that has an antenna extension that I believe would have worked better in my situation, but I have not been able to find anyone selling it in the US.

Not a stable product
Several things did not like about this product:1. Meter is difficult to pair 2. Sensor and meter lose connectivity after 20Ft of distance3. Received ERR 200 and 400 constantly - do not seem to be able to get past those errors after changing calibrations and sensor positionWould NOT recommend this product.
