Well writtan,all the information you are going to need on starting your own Real Estate development company.I flew through this book, I could not put it down.It really gives you the starting building blocks on how Real Estate development works.It comes with a CD,it gives you all the contractsyou are going to need when starting your business.If you plan in getting into Real Estate development,this book is a great head start.

Good introduction to the basics of real estate development, and great for getting your head around basic concepts. Fantastic example spreadsheets, business plan, and contract docs.On the negative, and I am being very picky: text is huge--they made the book much thicker than it needed to be; more content would have been great. One or two example proformas don,t work, or at least I could not make sense of them--maybe they were simplified and removed some information? On the same note, more in depth examples would be great. Lastly, it is written by lawyers and it is approached from a very litigious angle; more attention should have been given to how one should engage design professionals and contractors, not just getting in bed with a lawyer.In closing, I still highly recommend this book to anyone taking on a development endeavor--it appears to lay out the basic tools for a great beginning.

This book is ok but kind of strange. A lot of the info is obvious and quite elementary. What's weird is 2 things: I like to know something about the author before I buy a book to help me evaluate whether the source of the info is good. Nothing is provided on amazon before you buy the book. Once you get the book, the "about the Author" page says nothing about her education or work experience. Should we be reading a business book about someone of which we know nothing? The only info provided is where the author lives and that she has 3 dogs. Strange. The other thing is that the publishers decided to include a page honoring their late dog. Seems out of place in a business book.

This book takes you through a step by step process of all the elements that make up a Real Estate Developer and sets the pathe for a successful venture.

Very little specialist info, but some occasional helpful info, most of the info is very basic and although just getting into this business, I found I already knew most of the contents and could probably have presented it better. Still, can't say it did not do what it promises.

This book is to general in nature and offers little by way of real examples. There is little on profit targets and risk assessment of the project. There is better information available in the public domain. I would love to know where all the glowing reviews came from. I certainly wouldn't base my future on such a simplistic outline and feel it was a waste of money. I'll be more careful next time when reading glowing reviews which don't even appear to apply to the book being reviewed. In short it is a dud - save your money!

Well, I bought this book, cause here in Mexico, specially were I live, I couldn't found any education program at any university related to Real Estate Development, and I am truly commited to be one succesful developer. Well, this very very practical handbook is a good introduction to development, very easy to read and understand. The cycle of the business is not presented that clear, regarding a step-by-step clear definition (first you do this, then you do this other thing, once you completed this, then go for these other things, finished? well, now this...), but maybe this step-by-step could be inferred by reading the index... and then deepen in each chapter...Really good for an introduction into this business.

This book is excellent. Due to it really gives you clear step by step instructions which do not leave you confused. This is an excellent bookfor individuals starting out in the real estate business.Thank you
