Danco 89080 2 in. Snap-in Drain Strainer in Stainless Steel

I was not sure if this product would work for my shower drain because it is an odd size. I ordered this drain cover and it works great. It is sturdy and simple but looks nice. I am happy with my purchase choice.

This is the only good drain cover I could find. And I scoured the internet and several stores looking. Most drain covers that fit my tub drain just lay over the two inch drain hole, unattached. They can get accidentally kicked away, leaving the drain open to catch a toe or heel in, as you shower. Those other drain covers that don't clamp in are also a slip/trip hazard. This drain cover is the only one I could find that fastens in to the hole and can't go anywhere after you install it. I would like to have a bigger inch or two in diameter, to create a nice finished look over the drain hole and surrounding pipe edge. But at least this one creates total safety and won't slide away from the hole as it clamps in firmly.

It popped right in. It is not lightweight, but quite substantial metal. It drains well too and does not jam up with hair.

The bond used to connect the drain to the prongs is poorly manufactured. Be very careful when adjusting them or they snap off.

I wish I have found this 17 years ago when I moved into this house. It fits as it should. sets low on the floor so no more tripping over it. It also looks great.
