Nuova Rade Jointed Aqua Scope, Under Water Viewer, Bathyscope

I bought the Nuovo Rade Aqua scope for my dad for Father’s Day. He operatesThe Andrew Red Harris Foundation volunteer non profit building artificial reefsIn the ocean offshore of South Florida. He liked the scope so much he wanted topost a review, but since I bought the scope he sent me the following to post for him:The scope is great and works as advertised. I used it on Father’s day in 55’ and 30’of water offshore. It gives the same view a snorkeler gets with a dive mask.In response to some of the other comments:2 stars, “should be black”. I agree and based on this review I painted mine black.Works way better black, but not worth a ding to 2 stars. Need to paint it beforeassembling.“tempered glass, I think not”. It is tempered glass.“Difficult to use, you have to apply quite a bit of pressure to get it far enoughinto the water”. Not true. We had three girls use it on our boat and I had totell them they did not need to push it so far down. When I used it I found it’sjust natural to push it deeper than it needs to go.“Black top way too difficult to attach”. It’s a stretch rubber piece over the topof the scope. Has to be tight or it will fall off.“Hard to align sections when assembling”. True, but that’s what happenswhen you align sections with a large diameter. Just be careful, you only needto do it once.“Glare inside scope”. Need to paint it black.

I love this thing. It's built to last - it's something you'd expect to find on a commercial fishing ship of some kind, that would bang around being used daily for a bunch of years and still not break. The view looks just about the same as what you see with a mask on in the water. I have the black one. Another cool thing you can do is to start taking a video on your phone, and then put the phone in the scope lying flat on the glass. Beautiful underwater video. I'd buy this again in a heartbeat.

The product works great, It's just disappointing that it's advertised that the lens is made with Tempered Glass, It's more like an acrylic, which unfortunately can scratch very easy. I have 2 of these now, One that I bought in the Carribean Islands and it is made with tempered glass and hasn't gotten a scratch on the lens in over 5 years.It was also only $19.00, well I hope this one won't get scratched.It should have been sold for less since it's not tempered glass.

This works great at seeing underwater. Would be better if black in color, so the sunlight doesn’t come thru but still works great

great product, good price, works as intended. Suggestion, paint the outside black for less glare and better visibility

This thing doesn't work and it's cheap and the parts don't even fit together well. Do not buy.

This aqua scope is well made and works like it should. It unscrews into three pieces for transport or storage. It's not a toy, but my kids love using it on the dock to view underwater aquatic life without getting wet. Recommended!
