Good quick story
Easy read and great way to get book count up. The story kept my attention and there was plenty of plot twists. A little cheesy, but overall great.

Short read packed with a punch!
Quick Review for this 92-page short story.Wrong Time, Wrong Place starts the story off with two Albanian females trapped in a basement after being lured and kidnapped to seek a better life. After no longer able to speak or hear her cellmate in the adjoining wall, Tara starts planning her escape. She gets a chance when her abductor comes to check on her, and from there, she runs for her life. Half naked and scared, Tara runs into two couples enjoying their weekend holiday. With the abductor tracking and watching Tara’s every move, he watches the couple take her in. From there on, he begins his hunt of terror of leaving no witness behind. If you enjoy a “race against time” thriller packed within a short story, I highly recommend it. Wrong Time, Wrong Place is worth the read! This short story will take you by surprise but will surely not disappoint! As you are reading, not only are you hoping and praying for a happy ending, but the reader is thoroughly surprised by the turn of events in the end.

Just wow!
When hiking in the Scottish hills you come across a girl who is running like her life depends on getting away, she is naked, desperate and doesn't speak English but what can you do, you're here on holiday. 4 friends decide that they will take her to their holiday home and try to help her but if she is running from something then won't that something come for them too? This is a thrilling read that is truly top notch from Simon Kernick and doesn't shy away from tension and fear being at the centre of the tale. If you've never read work from this author then why not take a chance on this one and find just how good his writing actually is?

fast suspense although ripped off in parts
I love this author but this novella (90 pages) from 2012 seems to be very closely inspired from many aspects of Eden Lake (2009) and other sickish stories in the same vein. In any case it is a crazy rush of violence and suspense. Loved it. To make it all even, I think recent Netflix movies also ripped it off. In any case Kernick is the man to read if you want to forget everything else. No dull moment in anything he writes.
