Does the LED base impact algae growth rates?

We have done testing with the LED on 24 hours and it will grow a little more algae in an Ecosphere but the light spectrum isn't made for growing plants.

How long can it stay wrapped?

I would to remove it no more than two days after you receive it. This sphere needs in direct light and also needs to stay at a certain temperature.

I bought this back in Sep 25, 2018. I messaged 3 months or so after that date to say all but one of the shrimp died. What can you do about this? :(

You can contact their customer service department. Explain to them the environmental conditions of where you had the sphere over the past 3 months and they might send you a replacement.

I just received my echosphere yesterday and the algae is barely visible. Is this normal?

Ours had more, but placing it in sunlight will increase the growth quickly
