Dorman 13778 Keyless Entry Remote 3 Button Compatible with Select Models (OE FIX)

My Mom sort of lost her memory suddenly and moved to a facility and I had to go get her car. She had long ago lost the key fob, so I purchased one on Amazon, only to realize you have to go to a dealer for programming.I searched on youtube for solutions, since the nearest Jeep dealer is like an hour through traffic for me, and found this kit. Comes with the programmable module and a key fob. I went ahead and programmed both fobs so now I have a backup. It was so easy! Literally took me about 3 minutes to complete both fobs.If anything ever goes wrong with my current fobs, will be easy to program new ones now. Well worth the price of the kit. I would highly recommend if you have older Jeeps and don't live close to a dealer.

Works awesome, so simple to use, will save you money and time. If you need it buy it.

It took only less than 3 minutes to set up. I was able to to set all my key fobs, too which was a great thing. It's great to know that I won't need another device or to take it to the car dealership to set up my key fobs. Would highly recommend. I used it for a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo.

Can't believe how easy this was.. plug it in, beep, press the buttons for a few seconds and you're good to go. I worry about the quality of the plastic parts here over time, however the functionality so far is excellent, really cool that there is a device like this to save you going to the dealership and spending this same amount on one key

This worked exactly as it should. I was able to program my remote quickly and easily. The product sent to me had clearly been opened and used. Why even bother with the "tamper proof" packaging to send to me. This had been opened and returned. Still worked, but not a brand new product which is what was expected. The key fob still works, and it is going on a keychain, so not the biggest deal, but losing a star for sending me used.

One of my key fobs was lost for my 2003 Jeep wj and for about a year I was using only one of the original key fobs. I started thinking about losing the only one I had and decided to get a backup. I checked with the Jeep parts department and they wanted $240 for a key fob and $80 to program it. So, I started looking an alternative that would be a little more reasonable pricewise. I found this Dorman option and decided to give it a try. I am happy that I did. I received it today, took it over to the 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee and within 5 minutes it was programmed and ready to work.4-28-23UPDATE: This new key fob worked fine for 5 months, now it does not work. I thought it was just the battery. I installed a new battery and it still does not work. I checked the battery to make sure it was ok. It checked to be 3 volts which is correct. So, now too late to return it. I hate just having one good key fob. Fortunately, the old original still works.4-29-22UPDATE: I decided to reach out to Dorman on their website and explain to them what had happened with the keyfob. Within the hour they informed me by email that this item had a limited lifetime warranty. So, I called them and they gave me a number to call at Amazon. I told them what happened and they are sending me a new keyfob. Dorman is a great company to do business with, so is Amazon.

The fobs programmed within seconds and we even programmed 3 fobs with it and all work perfectly

I had two original remotes that came with the car when I purchased it, 14 or so years ago. Recently I lost one set of keys and then, wouldn't you know, the second remote quit working. On top of that, someone had once tried to break into my car, so I couldn't just use the key in the lock. I was leaving the car unlocked until I realized that a double click on the liftgate lock would unlock the doors. Still it was inconvenient especially since the liftgate would also pop, requiring me to open and close the gate. I purchased extra remotes. I tried resetting the remotes using the manual, but you need one working remote to make it work. I tried going to a garage, but apparently you can only go to Chrysler. I went to Chrysler and paid them to tell me it didn't work and that I would have to pay for more work to replace something inside the car. Really??? So after a few weeks of living without the remote, I ordered this. Worked perfectly! The old remote (and the remotes I purchased in the process) would not program. But the remote that came with this tool works and was easy to set using the tool that comes with it to program it (that allegedly only Chrysler can do)! At least I have one remote back. Hoping to get at least one more, but so very very very happy that I got it to work finally using this package. It didn't take very long either.

I’m cheap and didn’t want to pay the extra for the obdii adapter, but after getting no where with other aftermarket remote, thought I would give it a try…. Worked perfectly, and was real easy even for me. Read the instructions and follow them closely and all works.1 caveats they tell you to check fitment on back of package on the Dorman website.. I saw this after I purchased and it was delivered… I was lucky I got the right one, but do this before ordering to make sure you are ordering the correct one.

this device does not work on uk model WJ grand Cherokees so stay clear of this device its a lot of money down the drain.

2000 GC canadian. Never came with a fob in literally 10 seconds I have a new fob for my jeep can finally lock it and unlock without alarm going off.My expensive scanner wouldn't work and chrysler wants a million dollars
