How wide is the door opening when the strap is adjusted to its maximum length? My cat is very fat

I got the xl. My 2 cats are also fat. One weighs 19lbs and one weighs 22lbs. Once it's in place on my door it's about 5 1/2 inches. Hope this helps!

Can you get through the door from either side?

Yes, opening from either side is a matter of simply pushing the end of the FlexLatch out of the door frame to release it. It’s very easy and fast.

Would this keep a toddler out?
