No metal back adapter
So in the photos and descriptions it says it can be used for metal back pins and plastic ones. It fails to mention you need a special ring for the metal pins. In the photos it shows the special ring. But is not included. BUMMER

Nice button press!
This is my first button maker and I really like it! Yes, it does come with the metal disks, plastic backing and plastic films. Just make sure you peel every single plastic film. They get stuck to each other which feels like 1 but could be actually 2. I accidentally double layered mine but there was no problem. Still worked and didn't jam but now I have one less to make. This machine comes already assembled so you can start using it right away! I would recommend buying a circle cutter though because the one it comes with was difficult to adjust. I didn't use the pre cut circles or the coloring book but it's a nice addition for kids to use. Overall this is a really nice bundle! I would recommend this machine for fundraisers, home DIY's and school projects. It's super easy to use and the directions were simple to follow as well.

Chill
I was kind of scared since it was made out of plastic but the price tempted me so I bought it. Got it in the mail today took it out the box and the first one I made was P E R F E C T. easy to learn and set up.

Good value
This button maker is priced on the lower end compared to others that make the same size button. We like button it makes because it's large enough to show some detail without being an in your face type size. Great for on hats, lapels, purse straps, etc.The button maker itself is made of metal. The instructions are on a single sheet and though the explanation with the pictures is a little weird, the pictures are perfect to show you what to do. The kit came with button tops, pin backs and clear plastic covers. It also came with a baggie of white rounds with a slick side. I believe that these are dye sub blanks. You also get a circle cutter, which frankly, you should toss in the trash because it's garbage. It's an extra though, so I'm not subtracting points for that. Ditto with the odd coloring book that was included too.You can use one of the discs as a guide to draw a circle around what you want on the button, or better yet, this would work great with a cutting machine to print and cut out your 1.25" circles. What you cut out is actually a little larger than the finished button since it wraps around the form when you're pressing the button. You put your top piece in , then your image, then the clear top. You rotate it to be under the presser and press. The handle will go about half way down and when you release it, the cup is empty because your button top is up in the machine. Then you rotate the pin back to it and press down all the way and it pressed your top w/image onto the back, wrapping the paper image around the button top. Really nifty and easy. You can purchase refills on Amazons at about $45 for 500 pin refills in this size.Great entry level machine, fun to use too. Recommended.

So much fun
My family is having so much fun with this button maker! It is very easy to use and makes great looking buttons. It comes with everything you need to get started right away. My kids have hand-drawn buttons and used stickers to make really excellent looking buttons. Two notes - 1) My 7 year old has a hard time on the final step (pushing the final time to turn the button into a button), so I have to help her with that part. It's fine, but just be aware it does take a little bit of strength. 2) The magic book is really pointless and doesn't go with the button maker itself.
