I don't do a lot of reviews, but this really deserves a five-star rating and review. I tried it yesterday morning, I washed and conditioned my hair like it says, when I rinsed the conditioner I didn't rinse it all the way out, I did it like you do the big name curly hair product conditioners. When I got out of the shower with my hair still dripping I put in a handful of the curl around or twirl around or whatever the Paul Mitchell stuff is and I wrapped it in a microfiber towel. I got ready for work, took the towel off after maybe 15 minutes, it was obviously still wet. On the way to work I scrunched it with my hands and squeezed it and all of that good stuff that you do with curly hair to try to get it to dry because it takes forever to dry. I eventually put in some olaplex leave in oil so I wouldn't have any frizz. Yesterday it was a bit heavy, I didn't really care for the texture, I could have done without the curl around or twirl around or whatever. Today, I didn't wash it, I just ran my fingers through it and got it wet to revive the curl. The picture is of today. I didn't put any other products in it. The texture is okay, I still feel product, but it's not gross. I'm also very impressed with the actual cleaning the shampoo bar did. When you have thick and curly hair you know what the thick curly hair musty smell is and how sometimes it's there even after you shampoo. There is no musty hair smell even today. I can still smell the aroma of the shampoo and conditioner. I highly recommend this stuff, I've used all of the high-end curly products that you can think of and this is probably the best that I've found to date.

Let me preface this with I'm a 3A curly girl. This review is for the curly-headed women (and men) looking to ditch the bottle.This is my first time trying shampoo and conditioner bars, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. However, these little things blew me away! The shampoo lathers very well and easily. The real kicker is the conditioner...the trick is to make sure you use enough and run it through your hair. I did that and then used a wet brush because I have longer, curly hair. My hair was softer after using the conditioner than if I used my old cream-type conditioner. It was so easy to run my wet brush through my hair to detangle the knots. I didn't use the conditioner as a leave-in this time.I did use my regular routine leave-in and styler after rinsing out the conditioner. I typically air dry my curls, so we'll see how they turn out because I'm writing this while they're damp. My regular leave-in conditioner and styling products are from Curlsmith for reference.To touch on the scent, it's not overpowering at all. It's a pleasant citrusy scent and was very pleasing to smell. Really like both of these. Shampoo lathers up well. Has an interesting smell to it. Almost like leather but not as strong. Didn’t last as long as I thought it would. Conditioner is nice and I’m still using it. My hair is thick so I have to do it in sections which takes a little longer

I originally bought the curly B.O.B. set for a trip so I didn’t have to mess around with bottles and it quickly became a staple for my shower! I love love love these bars so much. They make my hair feel clean and soft and my curls have never been better. They work so well that they inspired me to let go of my skepticism across the board and switch from bottles to bars for all of my bath and shower needs. That being said, I love the B.O.B. brand for my hair and will use these 2 bars forever if I can. And for those worried about lathering, you just have to swirl it on your head while you’re standing under the water and it will definitely get easier after the first few uses.

I have been using the shampoo and conditioner bars for about a month and am happy so far. My hair is thick, wavy and occasionally frizzy. A lot of traditional shampoos and conditioners leave a buildup on my hair after a few washes, but this doesn't seem to be the case with using the bars. I am able to go several days between washes, even with going to the gym every day and sweating.The only reason I gave 3 stars is because it is hard to get a lather worked up. Overall it is a good product if you want a decent shampoo & conditioner that are environmentally friendly.Edit: after continuing using this product for several months I've noticed the conditioner leaves my hair feeling weighed down. Also, I have almost completely used up the shampoo but the conditioner almost looks brand new so it will likely get thrown out

I LOVE Bars over Bottles Shampoo and Conditioners. They smell wonderful-and the fragrance last a long time I think. They work so well too! I switched about 15 years ago to bat shampoo and conditioner and have thick long blonde hair-that so many compliment me on and often ask what brand I use. I love the other aspect to bars-and that is the DRAMATIC decrease in plastic bottles it gives! I stared for that reason and then discovered they have amazing products too! I do put the bars in a little mess pouch and keep it moist so it’s easy to rub up and down my hair and the product transfers this way perfectly!

Did not receive the curl defining bars that I ordered. I thought maybe the bars had changed because the box stated curl defining. But just received a new order for my daughter and she got the correct bars. Also disappointed the shampoo bar has just come apart in Paterson your hair and hands.

The products worked ok, but left my curly/wavy hair a bit too soft, so it went frizzy. But I personally couldn’t stand the smell and had to throw it away. Very lemon grass and pine sol scented.
