Clockwork, Revised and Expanded: Design Your Business to Run Itself

The original book was fantastic and gave you everything you needed to know but this book is next level. I feel like the updated version directly addressed the inner critic that is sitting there telling you this won't work for you. It's like Mike knows exactly what I'm thinking and gives me a way to move past those nagging voices. My four-week vacation is booked! I'm out of here!

Wow, another great book from Mike Michalowicz!My business is me. That’s it. I knew for a long time I needed to up my game, my whole game plan, and basically change the rules of the sport if I was going to have both a business AND MY SANITY.Though over the years I had streamlined my business really well, I could see it wouldn’t scale well, but hey, I was doing better than most in terms of free time and efficiency. I thought, “Eh, maybe I’ll get a gem or two from Clockwork Revised and Expanded. It might not pertain to me, but I like the way Mike writes, it’ll be fun.”When lo and behold about halfway through the book all these beautiful business concepts I had know for years (and some new ones, and some new takes on some old ones!) came together in a new, funny, relatable, badass gem-stack. And I saw how I could have that gem-stack for my business, how it would make what I had even better, take it to the next level (with a few different options)…easily…and I could feel inspired again.I started calling friends and excitedly telling them about the Queen Bee Role, my business Big BANG and Big Promise etc., etc. After they reassured me they would order the book, I finished the final section, Accelerate. This last 1/3 of the book was almost like an entire bonus book that brought in other needed concepts to round out the process.I highly recommend this book to all of you brave entrepreneurs (soon to be stake holders) out there. Get your time back, get time to work on the design of the business to take it to new heights, give those great employees the clarity they need so they can love their jobs.Even (maybe especially!) if you are just starting out, read it and begin with the end in mind.Ahoy, Mike! The fact the everything is broken down in this book literally step by step, week by week is incredible and invaluable. To have a complete roadmap to get you from chaos to order which creates peace and stability is what every entrepreneur needs and the steps are so doable! The last thing a small business owner or entrepreneur needs is to put more on their plate. This book helps you take things OFF your plate one piece at a time, step by step and creates a system to fall back on to support every leg of your business. What I learned in this book, changed the trajectory of our business and therefore our life. I’ve been in business for 13 years and didn’t realize how I was shooting my self in the foot and the holes I had. Because we were able to implement these systems, we quadrupled our revenue in a year. Never could I have imagined taking a 2 week let alone 3 week unplugged vacation but we did it with Clockwork and I tell every business owner I know, this is a MUST READ if you intend to grow and scale your business and increase revenue. I had it all backwards and Clockwork set me straight. This book sets you up for success in so many ways.

My husband and I have operated businesses our entire adult lives; one might think we should have it all figured out by now. This is why Mike is our hero. It’s like he sees us; he knows what we are doing and why we are doing it in an almost omniscient way. He clearly explains why we are doing it, and then he lays out the steps we need to get ourselves out of the mess we created and into the functioning, profitable business we have worked so very hard for. His books are just the advice we need, with explanations and solutions that resonate with our values as people, and priorities as a business.Mike’s books have been amazingly helpful to us as small business owners (I mean shareholders.) We are on our second listening to the audiobook of this revised version, and we’re blown away by how much better it is. We keep the paper copy nearby to reference the charts and graphs, but he has that available online. (We did buy both versions because it was worth every penny.) The first version was fantastic, but the concepts are more clearly defined in the revised book and much easier to understand and implement. We have been working on Clockworking our business since April (it is now September), and we hope, for the first time in years, that we will be able to have the time for our family that we wanted our business to give us for so long.We highly recommend this book!
