It magnifies
It's a magnifying glass. It magnifies. That's what it is supposed to do. I haven't Roasted any ants with it yet, but it works great on the fine print in blue prints.

Getting a close look.
This is a very basic magnifying glass. We purchased it to take SCUBA diving do get a bitter look at the small stuff. The handle has a small hole so you can put a string on it. It is a good purchase for the money.

Just okay
This was for my 3 year old grandson so he'll still like it, but considering the price I could have probably gotten a similar small plastic one at the dollar store.
