Excellent quality and fun to build.
The media could not be loaded. This is a very well put together kit. It comes in a sturdy, reusable plastic box and contains everything that's needed to construct it, down to individual cables, screwdrivers, rechargable batteries and a charger, and the USB cable to attach to a PC to program the Arduino (which is a genuine Arduino Uno). The sensors, shield, and drive motors are all high quality components. The parts are not custom to this kit, which is good; datasheets are available for everything in this kit to facilitate tweaking/hacking it.Not that there's much more hacking that needs to be done. The included CD includes several different Arduino sketches for different functionality, as well as a master sketch that includes all functionality. The CD also includes the Android APK to install the controller software. The software is easy to use, and the controls are very responsive. It also lets you switch between direct control, line following, or obstacle avoidance. I can hand the controls over to my kids and they drive it around without any issue. It connects via bluetooth or RF, so you need to stay somewhat near the car to control it directly. However, you can set it to obstacle avoidance and just let it run; it will continue until you tell it to stop or turn it off.The four separate drive motors give the car four-wheel drive. I have yet to see the car get caught up on rugs or door jambs. It has pretty great torque & just rolls over everything. I've included video of the obstacle avoidance in action. It's pretty impressive how well it works out of the box.Construction is not difficult, but care needs to be taken when doing the wiring. I don't recommend just trying to follow the pictures. The instructions are very clear on what cables go where, and the PCB chassis also has markings detailing where things go. I had some difficulty getting it working, but it turns out the wire I used to connect the motor driver to power was trimmed too short and wasn't making a connection. As soon as I fixed that it worked perfectly.I'm giving it 5-stars since it does everything it claims to, does it well, and includes small extras like rechargeable batteries and the really nice reusable box. This is a quality kit.

I love this kit
I love this kit. Building this car was fun and educational. I initially had a problem with the programming written for the avoidance with servo sketch. I had thought it was a error in the writing of the sketch. After adjusting and trying to fix the commands in the program I contacted Kuman customer service. They assured me that the program was correct and that it might be a hardware issue. The left motor would not run but the right did. I went back and forth with them trying to conclude what the problem was. Emily was patient with me, I was being rough about this. She was very kind and considerate with me through this all. She even offered to replace any parts that I thought were bad. I discovered that the problem was with my computer and the version of the Arduino that I had. The application I was running did not have the exact same libraries as the earlier version that is on the disc with this kit. My version would open up instead of the 1.7.8 that this car was programmed with. When I opened up the earlier version, all the necessary libraries that the sketches run with became available and the car works perfectly. In fact this car has so much variation to it that it is educational as well as fun. I told Emily what I found and she was happy for me and that everything worked out. I recommend this smart car, The sm-11, to anyone wanting to learn about building remote control cars and to learn about the microprocessor that runs it. It has four modes of operation that are so much fun.

Great Christmas present
My brother enjoyed putting together this robot! Throughout the building process there were a few steps that were unclear, but with some help from YouTube we were able to figure it out. We haven't started on the coding bit yet but that's also a neat feature. It took about a week of working on it on and off during Christmas break. All in all, I would recommend to anyone looking for a cool project!

Worth the price
Instructions are not the best, had to take my time, but still have not completed the unit. Fun but tedious project.

I am 100% disappointed with this product
I am 100% disappointed with this product. I brought this product as a bonding exercise for my grandson. The directions on how to put it together was really bad. I found a youtube video that did a much better job in showing how it goes together. Once I got the unit together, I tried to program the board with very little success. If it doesn't go thru, there is no information to help you with troubleshooting. I really wanted this to work so I brought two new boards hoping that was the problem. Now I am now more disappointed than before. What a waste of money. Don't buy it. Wish I could get my money back.

This is great!!
Gave this to my niece for her birthday. She loved it so much she started ordering for herself. Has a blast with it!!! Good buy for the money.

Both infrared line follower circuit boards and the infrared object ...
Both infrared line follower circuit boards and the infrared object avoidance had the wrong terminal blocks soldered on them, and the motor driver board had a terminal block soldered on upside down.The instructions are such a poor resolution that I had to find a series of videos to piece together what the instructions were supposed to show.Edit #1: Just tried to install the software and nothing would open. Every file is corrupt or empty.
