Programed the Spare Keys myself.
Works perfectly with my 2003 Ford F150. I was able to have a local locksmith grind the keys for $1 apiece, took them home and was able to program the keys using the method found on youtube and I even found the procedure in the owners manual of the truck. You must have the two original factory keys to program a spare. But it works! Now I use the spare keys as my regular keys and keep the factory keys in a safe place at home in case I lose a key and need to make another new one. There are several versions of chip keys being sold for different years, make sure you get the keys that work with your vehicle year. I'm Very happy.

F-150 Keys
These keys worked awesome. Had a local store cut the keys to match and then I was able to program them using the PATS on my truck.

Dud keys
I bought these specifically for a 2002 Ford Ranger, which is listed as compatible. The keys I received had a small dot stamp. Per the locksmith, this indicates either a bad transponder chip, or... I forget the second indication. The upshot is, it did NOT work. When attempting self-programing, I got a rapid blink instead of a steady 5-second-on light. A rapid blink means the key is not compatible.I had to buy keys from the locksmith stamped with an "SA" instead of a dot.I've learned my lesson. It's a shot in the dark if a third-party key will work with your car. This is actually the 2nd time I've attempted to order a key (first time wasn't from Amazon), and both times I got incompatible keys. Next time I need a car key, I'll get one from the knowledgeable local locksmith.Addendum: Older cars like my 2002 Ranger limit you to a max of four programmed keys. Even if the key you buy is compatible, if extra keys have been made at anytime in the past, once all four memory slots are used, you cannot add any new keys without first clearing memory and reprogramming back in your existing and new key(s). This takes someone with the right OBD plugin equipment to do it, like a locksmith. This could also explain why some people haven't been able to self-program keys on their own.

Works fine
I read that a lot of people here took the key to HD to get it cut. I got refused at Lowes and HD too. Technically they could cut it , they just don't want to but Ace Hardware had no problem cut the keys for me and they charged 3 dollars each.Since I didn't have two original keys, I could not copy them. But You can program them at home with an OBD2 adapter and a laptop. The total cost was less than 50 dollars, including the adapter, keys and the labor to get the keys cut and I have 2 working keys.Only reason I give 4 stars because the plastic part looks cheaply made.

Save money and do it yourself
These worked perfect. I had the keys cut for 5 dollars per key and reprogrammed the key myself with a 70 dollar item that also included a key! The dealer and mobile locksmiths were quoting 600+ for one key.
