Carpuride2024 Newest Upgrade 9 Inch Touch Screen Portable Wireless Carplay Android Auto Car Radio Receiver with Mirror Link/GPS/Siri/FM,Dashboard Console Mounted

This is the best gadget decision I've made in a long time. I have a 2014 Ford Flex. It has the premium audio system that was offered at the time, but the car media system is very dated and cumbersome. I have wanted to upgrade to something with Android Auto and Car Play for a long time, but was concerned about the functionality of the climate control and other features that are tied into the car. This was cost effective and works great.The screen is vibrant and responds quickly. I was worried about the sound coming through the FM transmitter because I have tried that with the cigarette lighter transmitters before and I never liked the sound. This sounds great.I use and Android and have used the wired version of Android A, and it has connected flawlessly. I have also used an Iphone to connect to the wired and wireless Car Play and again no problems connecting. It looks good too. I am very happy with this purchase.

This is better than nothing, sometimes. When Carplay works, mapping and routing are okay, mostly. Problems when it is working: volume of routing instructions is not adjustable. (Was too low when bought; then too loud when it received a software update.) i-Play, the CarPlay connection to our iPhones are intermittent, kicking on and off randomly; With multiple drivers with different iPhones, it wants to stay in the last iPhone it was connected to, especially if both phones are anywhere near the car when the unit is initially on. The Bluetooth is needed to connect the i-Play/CarPlay, but needs to “disconnect” on the Carpuride Bluetooth icon for i-Play to connect. Sometimes this works automatically putting an “x” on the BT icon and letting i-Play work; sometimes it stays stuck with the BT icon on with a green ckmark and if i-Play is touched, you receive a msg to connect BT. F’ing frustrating!!!!! Customer service is by email only, so plan on wasting a ton of time to wade mostly unsuccessfully through all the issues. Would rather have our old Garmin GPS than this overpriced frustrating waste of money.

Despite the description, this is NOT the newest model for 2023. There is a newer model on the Carpuride website. If you wear polarized sunglasses, you'll have to get rid of them. The screen is polarized in the wrong direction. If you're wearing polarized sunglasses the screen is black. I'm 90% happy with this purchase. I wish, for my car, that I'd have gotten the 7" version as I could have mounted it differently. If you drive alot at night, there are some things that you need to know. The auto brightness doesn't actually start working unless you tap the brightness icon. EVERYTIME you get in. Also, Google maps, no matter what I do, ALWAYS opens with the white daytime map. If you want the dark map it WILL NOT auto switch or remain on the dark map. You have to change it EVERY TIME YOU GET IN. The company does offer a hardwire kit on their website, but be ready to wait 2 weeks to get it. I have so far tried 2 different high quality cameras on this device and can't get them to work. From everything I've read, the one the company offers isn't that good. If you're a Pandora user, I can't get the app to show up in Android auto. I can listen to the music, but it doesn't show on the screen. I do Doordash and the larger screen has been VERY helpful for navigation. I wish the dash mount was a little more sturdy. When I tap the screen, it wiggles a little. I cannot speak for the suction cup mount since I'm not using it. All in all, if you have an older car, this is a huge upgrade.

The audio and speakers in this unit aren’t really loud so calls aren’t very easy to do. Also, the screen isn’t super bright.
