About Tony the artist: Tony Lees was born in Bolton in 1940 and was self-taught, despite no formal training he has developed impressions created by the industrial nature of the area of Lancashire in which he lived. In recent years the contrasting countryside of the Lake District and other rural areas has added further impressions. The different environments have enabled him to appreciate the opportunities offered to develop in his work a richness of color and texture found in the hills and valleys which contrast against hard edged ‘gritty’ man-made structures. Tony sadly passed away in 2016, but his family continue to keep his memory alive with watercolor artwork from around the globe with the production of these adult jigsaw puzzles 1000 pieces and watercolor Art prints.
