Richbaub's Introduction to Middle School Grammar: A Foundation in Grammar for Middle School Writers

This is exactly what my daughter needed to study, especially for formal testing like Standord or Iowa test. It's also giving her and I a good foundation of proper English skills. It's thorough and explains things in a manner that is friendly for all.

Purchased three of Richbaub's books for use in a home school setting. Opened to page 3 of the Intro book and read support materials, including teacher's answer book and test booklet, are available for download at middleschoolgrammar website. Went to the website and was informed that I must pay an additional $20 per book to obtain the online version. This online version does not include the answers or the tests. For that you must go to Teachers Pay Teachers and purchase yet another set of materials. This program comes highly regarded, but the purchasing system leaves a lot to be desired. I wish that I had not already invested in purchasing all three of the books since now in order to utilize what I have already paid for I must shell out additional funds. Buyer beware!

I purchased this for my daughter based on the reviews. The book looks pretty good, but there is no answer key. I went to the books website and I would have to pay additional money for any supporting materials / answer key. If you are a parent looking for materials to use to support your child's learning, do not buy this, unless you are a grammar wiz (or you buy the supporting materials). Will we use this a little but not as much, because I am not a grammar wiz, and without an answer key, it is not a good resource.
