IMPRESSIVE AT THIS PRICE POINT
Full disclosure.....We own several Bose products ranging from their Wave Radio through indepednent speakers.Product arrived on time and well packaged. THREE separate boxes, two of which had padding. The build quality is typical Bose rock solid. Fit and finish are excellent. Set up was as simple as connecting the power and HDMI cables, powering it up, and completing the start up process using the Bose Music app. The sound bar did require an initial software update, which is not at all unusual. I would say that it took about 15 minutes for the update to complete. There is no progress bar to tell you where in the process it is, so you just have to trust that the installation is going fine. I would suggest to Bose that the inclusion of a progress bar would mke owners more comfortable during longer updates...Once the software update has installed you complete a few more steps on the app and then fire the sopund bar up. The sound quality is what you would expect from Bose. I installed the sound bar 600 ONLY with no subwoofer. Thus far the bar has done an adequate job of supplying base / lower frequency sound. No it will not vibrate you out of your chair, but quite adequate and surprising and your neighbors will likely be happy that you are not shaking their walls. Your result will vary of course due to location, room characteristics, etc...And you will most likely have to fine tune the bass, treble, and center / top speaker setting to suit your room characteristics and your personal taste in sound. Thus far I have only played with the sound bar for about 30 minutes, so time will tell on how well the Truespace works with the upward firing speakers. Speech was very clear without using the app feature which enhances the voice profile through the center speaker. I did move through a number of programs and music apps as a test. The music also sounds Bose good. I have not done a higher volume test as that will have to wait until the wife is not home.....For obvious reasons. So, overall first impressions....I am VERY pleased with the Bose 600 sound bar thus far. Years ago we had the Bose 321 system. The ability to spead out the two satellite speakers may have given that an edge of the side firing speakers, but they were also extra clutter.I will update this review, perhaps over the weekend, once I have some time to really put this sound bar through its paces.

The Bose Smart Soundbar 600 - A Great Solution, but Read On
I purchased this soundbar around a month ago. Here is a general overview if you are curious about my experience thus far:SOUNDThis soundbar is a fantastic solution to transform my bedroom into its own Movie Theater (and adding in the Bass Module 500 really accentuates the surround sound effect, even with no rear speakers). When tuned appropriately inside the Bose Music app, the performance can be incredible in smaller spaces like my bedroom (especially when playing Dolby Atmos content), but you may be better suited to pursue other options (whether by Bose or other manufacturers) if you have a much larger space. My recommended settings are to alter the height channel between 80 and 90, bass to 60 (and external bass module to 80%), and center channel to 10. The sound really rebounds off the wall in all directions, giving you the feeling that there are invisible speakers all around you.FUNCTIONALITY/EASE OF USESimple - plug and play so long as your TV has either an eARC or Optical Input port. You will definitely get the most out of this soundbar using eARC for the Dolby Atmos (and Dolby Atmos-like effects). Additionally, your TV remote will sync its functions with the soundbar so long as you enable CEC in your TV's settings and use the eARC port - quite convenient to avoid using more than one remote (including the one that is included with the soundbar). I also set Alexa up on this soundbar, but be warned - as of the current software update, this voice assistant will randomly fail to function on demand at all times. Just wait around 30 seconds to a minute, and she should be active again. A software update could fix this problem, but we'll see if Bose responds.OVERALL REVIEWIf you aren't budget conscious, are invested in the Bose ecosystem, and crave a big sound in a smaller space, I would recommend this soundbar to you. Get the bass module first if you must have an expanded soundstage - it makes a significant difference (but like the general sound adjustments you need to make in the Bose Music app, make sure to adjust the bass response as well for a movie theater-like experience).10/26/2023 Update***I still have this soundbar, and it's still performing beautifully like it has on day one. However, Bose has still not addressed the voice assistant issue that I initially mentioned in this review. I can get Alexa to successfully activate around 40-50% of the time, but no higher.12/9/2023 Update***Bose has evidently released a patch to the soundbar that fixes my issue with the smart assistant activation issue - now it responds 100% of the time so long as your internet connection is stable.

Great Atmos Soundbar for smaller space or apartment
This is a fantastic soundbar for small to medium spaces, especially apartments. When I first purchased this, I used it alone without any subwoofer. Later, I purchased the bass module 500. Honestly, it sounded fantastic on its own. If you were using this for an apartment or a bedroom, I don’t really think you’re going to need the sub. However, combined with the Bose subwoofer, it does sound excellent. I use this regularly for both video and streaming music. From a video standpoint, it has a very wide soundstage and it’s common for me to be impressed with the surround effects of just the sound bar, especially how it can throw sound to the side. For music, I really enjoy the sound of the bar. It is compatible with Apple airplay 2, which is how I primarily use it. When grouped with my Bose smart speaker 500 the room is completely filled. When watching movies and TV, dialogue is extremely clear and easy to understand, without sacrificing, Fidelity or soundstage. The sound bar is truly a joy to listen to.Regardless of how you choose to use it, this is a fantastic sound bar. From a value perspective, I think this is best used either on its own or with a refurbished bass unit. Once you start paying full price and adding accessories, it starts getting into the price range of the Samsung Q990 series, which is probably a better value around $1000. However, if you want excellent sound in a small room, then I recommend this as a great standalone product.
