Excellent with minor flaws
This is great. Forming part of the Apple Homekit ecosystem, it only works with iOS devices and you will need either an AppleTV or iPad (Settings->Home and 'Use this iPad as a Home Hub' for remote control. Beyond that, this is pretty simple - it turns things off and on! As it's part of HomeKit it can be programmed with times, and/or as a result of other activities such as another plug or light being turned on, or sensors being triggered. It can be controlled using the Home app, or with Siri and in the Home app you can tell HomeKit the type of device plugged in so it understands if it's a light to respond to Siri commands such as 'Turn the light on in the lounge'. It works without an appleTV or iPad as a hub but only if you are within Bluetooth range. This is the first drawback of this product. As it is not WiFi folks in big houses will struggle without iPads and AppleTVs controlling the device. The second drawback is the nature of the Bluetooth connection - it is not held open constantly so response times can be several seconds. If you are used to Hue bulbs, which has millisecond response times, this isn't great but frankly most use cases don't need this sort of response time so it's more than acceptable.Beyond this, using the Eve app from Elgato, it keeps track of power usage so it can be used to track costs and Kw usage. You'll need to open the Eve app every so often to sync the data and be within range of it.

Works out of the box
Wanted to get a smart plug that integrated with Apple Home and could monitor electric usage. Bought two of these when they were on sale at 50% off.Great smart plugs . Very easy to use, linked in seamlessly, very responsive. Admittedly the first two I got were the old model using Bluetooth and not having Thread functionality- but that hasn’t been an issue.I have one setup in the front room attached to the sky q box, tv etc.Was quite shocked to see that even on standby - a lot of appliance cost quite a bit.On normal RRP, quite expensive compared to non-Apple compatible competitors, but can’t fault them or the software so far.Would recommend!

Solid Device much like rest of Eve range
I was waiting for these to be released and ordered as soon as they appeared on Amazon. Works great.Main feature is HomeKit compatibility. In fact Elgato have by far the best home kit integration I've seen. Whereas others build their own system and tag home kit on the side, the Elgato devices are 100% home kit, with no 3rd party servers, or accounts.Being Bluetooth, the range might be a problem - mine's pretty close to an Apple TV so its been OK. It can take about 5 seconds to switch from when you hit the button on your phone, which is might rule it out for some uses, but the whole point is you can control it remotely, or with a timer, so you'll likely not notice the delay. In fact these are the main pros/cons of all the Eve range: HomeKit good, Bluetooth OK-ish.

Best smart plug ever
I’ve set the business up in the garage over lockdowns using quite a lot of tools and power. Got this little plug to see how much power actually the business is using of the household energy consumption. Eve plug instantly shows the current consumption and overall by period of time. The only downside so far is you have to refresh the screen to see ACTUAL current consumption - it’s not live changing on the screen - but that is a little issue as long as at the end of the day I know how many kWh I’ve used.A little note - this plug can handle max 2500W of appliances and tools - so if you’re overloading extension and then try to connect with this plug you’re risking a little problem there.Setting up the plug took less than a minute, it took longer to download the app than connect it 😁 it works perfectly fine with my iPhone and Siri.Definitely recommend if you need a practical power meter function and don’t need all Alexa talking etc - however you do get all fancy stuff anyway like setting up schedules etc.

Excellent product, especially compared to the competition
We had purchased one of these smart wifi plugs about a year ago and connected it to our Apple Home. It connected immediately. The only downside is that there is a slight delay of up to five seconds between turning it off on the phone and the plug turning off (as compared to instantaneous response from some other items on our system).I did try recently to buy several wifi plugs from Meross but had to return them and replace them with more Eve plugs (that were more expensive). The Meross ones never connected to our Apple Homekit even after following their instructions that required changes to our router, whereas the replacement Eve plus did -- right away -- with no such changes required. I guess this is an example of 'you get what you paid for' ... so if you want a product that works reliably and sets up easily, do purchase these Eve wifi plugs. Our one that's a year old has worked fine since then, and the two new ones are also doing exactly what they should be doing.
