Excellent lamp!
I bought this for my kid's room. Said kid absolutely LOVES the touch pad control! It's like watching a cat toying with a mouse! You can slide your finger across the dashed line to brighten and lower the light or hit the individual dashes or go for the low sun or the bright sun - hours of endless fun for a child, over and above the actual light function! The light, itself, is very bright and even on low, is still more than bright enough for reading a bedtime story. I have to say that I could probably have bought a light more suited to a child's bedroom and bedtime stories than this one, but it's funky and fun and just so, so cool! the lamp can be angled in so many ways, too, making it really flexible and easy to find the right amount of light. I've noticed that once switched off in a dark room, if you fold the light tightly against itself and touch the outside surface of the part that holds the LEDs, then the LEDs actually turn on! Not very bright but there's definitely light when you touch it and this disappears when you break contact. I don't know if it's meant to to do that..? All in all, an excellent light that makes a good bedside light for reading, a reasonable night light if you fold both parts together, dim the light to the lowest setting and then push the lamp outwards away from the bed (keeping the LED light tight against the post) and an excellent office/desk light. The base is sturdy and quite large, presumably to maintain the balance of the light no matter which angle you put it at. One downside I've noted is that if you try to put the LED part around 40 degrees or closer to the post, it won't stay put and shuts automatically. Anything over around 40 degrees and it will hold open.

No Colour Temperature Option
It would be good to have warmer white option. Otherwise good proDuct. Quite robust frame and flexible head makes it usable with different angles as necessary.

Versatile and ideal for small spaces
Suitable for bright and diffused lighting. Sensitive to touch and does not take up space. I don’t have to worry about charging it or changing batteries. Good value for money

Very neat design
I'd been intending to get a gooseneck lamp, but the way this one folds away so neatly made it an ideal choice. The upper arm - housing the LEDs - can be folded down against the lower arm, and the lower arm can be folded down onto the base, making it very compact for storage. The unit itself is 12V DC; it's supplied by a mains adaptor that plugs into a wall outlet via a lead and a 5.5mm coax plug which goes into the base. The lead is only 1.5m long, which seems to be a standard length for such lamps, but which I found to be a bit too short; 2m would have been better. The colour temperature of 6000K (equivalent to daylight) is ideal for me, though those who prefer warm white may want to look elsewhere. The stated CRI is >80, which isn't very impressive, but won't be a problem for ordinary domestic use. The light output at the maximum setting of 500lm is as bright as anyone would need for a desk lamp, and it can of course be set to a lower brightness if required, using the seven touch-sensitive areas on the base. The selected setting is stored in memory so long as you only use the on/off switch on the base, but it'll revert to the default full brightness if you do so at the mains. The lamp area of the upper arm is made of 60 LEDs behind a diffuser of sufficient size to soften the shadows it casts, making it better for things like pencil sketching or handwriting than a lamp fitted with a single bulb. Note that the part of the upper arm opposite the LEDs gets pretty warm at full power. The upper arm can be rotated around its axis too, allowing it to be turned so the lamp points not just sideways (the 'interrogation' position) but almost vertically, so you can use it to illuminate more than simply documents on a desk.Since it's fashionably black, fingerprints show up on it well, but it's a matt finish so it could be worse. The degree to which it can be angled and tilted is very good, but if you want to extend it so the 'elbow' is more than about 30° from the vertical then you have to make sure you do so directly over the base; if you try do so sideways it'll fall over, as the base isn't very heavy.

Let there be light.
A friend suggested I buy a "Daylight Lamp" to help with my sewing. She had bought one and found it invaluable. So having looked on Amazon I purchased a Lepro desk lamp/daylight lamp and it is brilliant, Whether hand or machine sewing the whole lamp can be bent on its various hinges to suit different viewing angles Makes sewing black material with black cotton much, mush easier and less straining on the eyes.

Important drawbacks
The main purpose of this lamp was to illuminate my hp from above. But the lamp is not tall enough to do this, even with the computer at its lowest height setting. Trying to make it illuminate the computer area just creates reflections in the screen. Worse, the base of the lamp is not sufficiently weighty to always support the lamp when various lighting positions are chosen. At its worst, the lamp keeps on falling over. Perhaps I can find a use for it somewhere else in the house. But the top-heavy problem might become very boring, wherever I put it. For £30 it is what it is - but in this important category of good lighting I'll be looking to spend more and get better. The manufacturers need to some basic things right before worrying about 7 brightness settings which do nothing for me, at least..
