Great Calculator
I bought this calculator for my daughter who is doing her A level maths as it is one that is allowed in the exam itself .... it saves a lot of time plotting by hand graphs. She found it easy to use too.

The TI83plus is a great tool for learning and teaching
I am a Head of Mathematics at Davison High School and an advanced skills teacher. We have used the TI 83 and TI83plus for some time with our students. I also visit local primary schools and use them with younger students. They love the graphs, pie charts and probability applications.Graphing becomes accurate and exciting. Calculations promote discussion using the screen projector. Handling data is developed so that students can interepret and think rather than just calculate. The facility to download from the internet enables us to use exciting applications. We can simulate rolling dice, flipping coins and can solve equations and draw graphs and charts. The link facility enables students to print their work or transfer screens to Word and so include this in their GCSE coursework. This has really enabled us to turn Ds into Cs and As inot A*s. Many students want to buy their own calculator. A student today returned from the sixth form college with the calculator she used with us. She has said on many occasions, I really like my calculator. She came back to say how well things were going in the sixth form.We are developing work with rangers which enable us to draw real-time graphs and collect and process real data. And now TI I have brought out TI interactive we can link the calculator not only to the internet but also to our PCs. And what's more if I can do it it can't be difficult. This calculator has really enhanced my teaching and supported the learning of the students. They can work individually or in pairs. Ideal too for both teacher demos and students' individual work. Suits the shy students as well as the computer wiz. Thears's so much on the calculator. It is fascinating and at the same time easy to get started with (great handbook too). Great stuff.
