Easy to clean crisps bacon. Doesn’t take bacon long to cook

My wife and I are great lovers of bacon, so we were very pleased when we spotted the Smart Bacon Express on the Amazon Website. The Smart Bacon Express is a new and healthier way of cooking bacon quickly and easily.It is called the ‘bacon toaster’ and it is easy to see why. The unit is very compact, and would easily fit into most kitchens even if you lived in a shoe box. Yes, it might look a bit like a toaster, but this is a BACON toaster, and I will say, bacon is far more interesting than toast.To work the Smart Bacon Express, you plug it in and make sure it is a on a flat stable surface. You turn the dial at the side to ‘Preheat’ and press the button until it has turned blue. After a couple of minutes, the unit will beep which means it is ready for you to add the bacon. The unit can hold up to 6 slices of bacon at a time. It has two settings for thick and thin bacon and you can choose how crispy you would like it just by turning the dial.As we both like the bacon crispy, I set it to the bacon dial to the ‘Crispy’ setting. When you are actually cooking the bacon, steam does come out of the top and the unit can be hot to the touch. The handles do stay cool though, but other users may wish to use oven gloves to open up the doors after cooking had finished. Once the bacon is cooked, it is advisable to use tongs to remove the bacon from the unit as any scratches will ruin the non-stick surface. The door panels and the cooking plates remove for easy cleaning in hot soapy water. There is also a fat drip tray at the bottom of the unit which needs emptying and removing between cooking sessions.Overall, we were very impressed with the Smart Bacon Express as it cooks bacon very quickly and easily without any fuss or lots of mess. It is a very heathy way of cooking bacon too. Of course, if you really don't like your bacon done crispy, you simply turn the dial down.My only complaint is that I wish that they did one for sausages.Pro’s: No stove top to clean as you would if you fried bacon in a pan.Perfect bacon every time.Cooks up to six rashers but if you need to cook more bacon it's done in no time as it's already hot.Suitable for Thick and Thin cut bacon.Series of nice loud beeps when ready.Con's: The Smart Bacon Express only cook’s bacon and isn't suitable for anything else....no wait, is that a bad thing? Another excuse to have some Bacon.

The media could not be loaded.  The build quality of this product is poor, chrome surfaces appear poorly coated, sharp plastic edges, doors don't fit together well and clash with the main body.The 'insulated' doors get warm to the touch and I would advise against prolonged exposure to your skin.The product is made in China and distributed here in the UK by a Logistic company which is funny because it arrived a day late.The cooking plate looks very much like PPC metal but does easily clean however there are far too many parts to make the product easy to clean. Note there are surfaces on the product that are not removable and not easy to access that do get covered in grease I took a picture of it in the background of the image with the heating element in.When it comes to instructions and warranty info you can tell there is zero effort when they can't be bothered to translate the warranty info. Also note the company phone number is an 0844 number which most but a few companies have moved away from due to UK legislation against high cost numbers.I wouldn't recommend this and suggest you stick to your frying pan.

I find this machine very hard to clean even with a soak, it is difficult to get all the marks off just using a sponge as the instructions say not to use an abrasive pad? However the machine is easy to use and takes 4 thick slices of baconwith ease, the bacon is grease free and very tasty. Much better than frying or grilling. Don't be put off by the cleaning issue as this machine is great.

Very hard to clean,after washing twice still remains unclean. Mb

You can't do back bacon in this - it burns one side before the fat is cooked on the other. But it does streaky bacon fine.It cooks streaky bacon all the way through, no quicker than under the grill or in a pan, but certainly a lot more conveniently. Warm it up, put the bacon in, press a button and it beeps when it's done. The bacon doesn't come out looking all that appetising, but you're only putting it in a sandwich anyway, so meh.

Used this four times and thought this is brilliant. But after the fourth time of use all the non stick had bubbled up and peeling off. Not happy.

To be honest it’s easier to stick it under the grill or the frying pan. Bought it, used it a few times and then gave it to the charity shop. Sorry 😐
