How thick is it? Like is it runny or if you put it somewhere will it stay?

I would say it is like toothpaste, maybe a bit more runny. There is a learning curve to using it, but if you apply it to a surface parallel with the ground it should stay in place enough to cure it. I find that using masking tape over places you don't want to have it go works well.
